Does anyone drink tea but still sleepy?
If you are looking to stay up for a long period of time for studies/work I suggest making matcha. It offers a lot of sustaining energy but without feeling weird.
Why do we have Mainland Chinese folks on here posting threads like this?
What does mainland Chinese have to do with anything?! Your question, without context, suggests bigotry. Care to correct that impression?
Nothing to do with bigotry. I could tell a recent poster was Chinese from the grammar (I am from Hong Kong and taught English in Hong Kong for years) and the poster confirmed he or she was Chinese as well. There seems to be a pattern of these odd threads on here! From the grammar it just seems many of the posters are Chinese.
This one appears to be some sort of spam though. The poster in this case has Vietnamese in their profile and a link to a Vietnamese real estate blog site. The grammar in Vietnamese is close enough to Chinese that I thought this poster was from the Mainland as well! Is this a way to get around SEO preventative algorithms or something? I’m genuinely curious!
It’s possible you’re insensitive to caffeine, like me. In which case it won’t matter how much you drink, you’ll make yourself sick before ever feeling the effects.
It is possible to go from caffeine insensitive to caffeine over sensitive overnight, be wary.
Really? Interesting, I thought it had to do with the way and speed that the body processes the caffeine.
My ability to metabolize caffeine has changed as I have gotten older. Until about 6 months ago I could drink coffee right up to bed time. Now I have to cut off caffine, including tea, by 5 pm.
I have been thinking I should try gabba tea to help with sleeping but I wonder how the extra gabba will “war” with the caffine.
Very interesting. My mom, who I get my caffeine insensitivity from, is in her 60s and still caffeine insensitive so mine might stick around but I had no idea it could change! I think it might be worth the trade off though, because having something that would actually wake me up in the morning would be very nice.
Three or four years ago I used to drink ripe puerh past midnight and have no problem sleeping. Then overnight I had insomnia and I generally cut off caffeine early now. When I work the closing shift I bring a bottle of iced tea with me to help me make it to closing. But that is now the only time I have late tea. When I get home from the closing shift I am usually so tired that caffeine doesn’t matter. I went from caffeine insensitive to caffeine sensitive over night. I don’t really feel a strong effect from the caffeine but it keeps me awake.
