White2Tea 2017 Treachery of story telling part 1

Is there a review for White2Tea 2017 Treachery of story telling part 1, anywhere to be found? There are reviews for 2016 Treachery of story telling part 2. Has anyone tried part1? Very curious.

Do you have any idea why the tea is called “Treachery of Story Telling” ?

“The Art of Storytelling” is a Slick Rick album. I dunno if the name is a reference back to Slick Rick the Ruler, but it might be as old school hip-hop is something Paul seems to enjoy (as I do)!

He’s commenting on the state of the tea market and the BS that many people tell buyers to sell tea. It IS a huge issue for sure.

With it being named the the trechary of story telling, Ive read reviews on steepster , and watched tea dB video review of this tea. Some of them ramble on and on, to only speak of the tea in the last 2 sentences of a 10 paragraph story. Part 2 is reviewed but part 1 is not. I was just curious if the were very different teas compared to each other or completely opposite.

The reviews for part 2 indicated that it is a high quality tea.

I believe its a reference to Rene Magritte’s painting ceci n’est pas une pipe
aka “this is not a pipe” or “the treachery of images” and as the themes of that painting pertain to modern tea industry practices that lie, exaggerate or misrepresent tea. That’s why part 2 says “this is not old arbor puerh”, maybe with the implication that it “resembles” or represents or has the qualities of old arbor puerh.

or maybe it’s all just bullshit, white2tea is hard to peg down, but they’re definitely trying to do something subversive or deconstructive with regards to what they think are failings in tea industry and tea culture

i dont really know anything about the tea itself, or the weird reviews you mentioned, but that’s maybe part of it? part of the joke is telling fake-ass stories about this high end expensive tea?

Check out the reviews of part 2 on steepster if you got a little time. It’s humorous.
