Black tea suitable for sunny spring and summer days

I am looking for a medium-body, well rounded, no pungent tea. Black tea only. Something sweet and malty like Assam yet refreshing like Ceylon. No yunnans for me. Any ideas?

Have you tried Nilgiri teas, especially those produced in the spring? They don’t have the maltiness of Assams though. I sourced a couple from last year that were very well received – folks routinely dismiss Nilgiri black teas as base teas for blending, but my experience was very different and positive.

I myself don’t have much experience with Autumn Darjeelings, but there are characteristics that seem to match your description.

Hey! Have you ever tried Keemun Imperial?
I would say its a stellar option. It’s sweet, mellow, and both roasty & floral at the same time.
