Glass Infuser Mug Recommendations
My glass infuser mug broke. I know glass is more fragile but I really love being able to see the color of the tea while I’m drinking it. I only had this one for a few months before it cracked – I think it came from Lupicia. Can anyone recommend one that’s more sturdy?
There are so many types to choose from. I went to Amazon.com and searched on Infuser Mug. The search came up with a pretty good selection to fit any type. Hope you can find one you like!
What about a white infuser mug? I know it is not clear, and you have to look down into it to see the color…..
I have the ForLife Tall Infuser Mug in white and I love it.

Looks like they do have a glass version….

thanks, I did want a glass one and I know there’s a lot of brands out there but I was hoping to find one that’s a bit thicker or well made so it doesn’t break so easily. ;-)
I think The China made glass mugs are less sturdy than German made glass mugs…….I stand by this! I’ve used both, and while it’s marketing to some degree, German made glass is more sturdy. Still fragile, but more sturdy.

I think Jenaer glass company is even better, and while the glass is still made in Germany, I think it’s finished in Romania. True German made glass cups and saucers manufactured there are hard to come by now. :-/ So sad.

This website used to state that their glass products were made in Germany, but that doesn’t seem to be the case anymore. I think anything called Jena glass (not Jenaer) is hand blown in Romania of German glass.
I also like the French made glass cups and saucers I pointed out to you before Amy, called La Rochere. I just try to avoid China made glass, especially for my tea drinking. I hope this helps. :))
Here’s a mug made in France that looks thick and sturdy. I like it.
Crap it’s sold out!! Will probably be restocked with something made in China. :-(
Thanks Scott. It looks like Harney and Sons carries those Finum glass cups with infusers, maybe I’ll get one of those. :)
I have a David’s Tea Perfect tea mug that is clear glass which I like. While I doubt it would survive being dropped (very few things do, it seems) it is fine with boiling water, etc.
Yes! The David’s mug might seem a bit flimsy at first, but mine took a tumble today and didn’t even chip. I was quite impressed.
It’s a small thing, but I love that the infuser rests in the cover, so I don’t have to worry about finding somewhere to put my leaves while I enjoy my tea. I’m quite fond of the perfect tea muchs, and they provide ample room for the leaves which is nice.
I looked at your links above – Very similar indeed. At least David chose to mimic a good design!
Bodum Yo-Yo. I love it!

My parents gave me two glass infuser mugs for Christmas. I’m not sure where they got them, but they appear to be of Chinese manufacture. The glass infuser basket tends to heat up pretty quickly, and I dropped one a couple of centimetres into the lid/caddy a few days later and it smashed. Haven’t been able to find the exact same model on the internet again. So now I have one complete mug and a couple of spare parts…
Mine has a full-bellied shape rather than straight sides, which seems to allow plenty of water to swirl around the leaves.
Anyone have experience with the Primula 12-Ounce Personal Tea Maker Set? http://www.amazon.com/Primula-12-Ounce-Personal-Maker-Clear/dp/B001FB6IJA/ref=sr_1_21?ie=UTF8&qid=1337651434&sr=8-21
It seems to be one of the glass infuser mugs/cups on Amazon that have less bad reviews, though it also looks like it’s just the Teas Etc glass infuser cup rebranded from here: http://www.amazon.com/Teas-Etc-12-Ounce-Glass-Basket/dp/B002C4KMM8/ref=sr_1_18?ie=UTF8&qid=1337651434&sr=8-18
A glass infuser cup does seem really pretty, but there seems to be universal complaining about how thin/fragile the infuser is.
