Free Tea Sample Thread - I'll start.
A company called Teasta is doing a free tea sample promotion, you can choose two tea sample pouches, and if you apply the coupon code “TRYME” you get the samples free with free shipping. Their selection is very limited so I’m guessing they’re a new company. You can choose from cream earl grey, french vanilla black, tropical green, blueberry green, a strawberry kiwi fruit tea, chocolate mint rooibos, holiday mint herbal, and a papaya ginger white tea. Anyone know of any other free sample deals?
Just a heads up, I tried this offer-the company is no longer in business (or I don’t believe it is). I checked their twitter-they haven’t been updated since May 2, 2011. Before that-not since 2009. If you check at the bottom of the webpage in the footer-the website licence hasn’t been renewed since 2008. I tried that deal, too, and they never sent me a confirmation email for shipping. I ordered it about a month ago. Also, the company doesn’t exist on Steepster. I don’t think it’s still in business.
Besides that, I know that Teavivre offers EXCELLENT free samples. There’s a link to the page on their homepage (teavivre.com). They have amazing quality (they are the makers of the top rated tea here on Steepster) and they are truly excellent in their customer service department. They are prompt with their replies (and if they aren’t the apologize genuinely) and they are so good with their shipping, packaging, and (most of all) their tea. It’s super high quality and their samples are a generous size. I would highly recommend requesting a sample box (my second one is in the mail as we speak).
Hey Ian, I was just wondering, you said you ordered the free sample from teasta.com. Well I did too and I was just wondering if you got a bunch of spam or anything from it, cuz I looked it up online after I did the offer and people are saying its a information harvesting spam site. I’m kind of nervous and stuff now, so I was just wondering what happened with you. Thanks.

Oh, that’s unfortunate. Thanks for the heads up. And I’m anxiously awaiting my Teavivre samples as we speak. Definitely a very generous offer from them, and it will probably prove to be good for their business as well.

The guy at yunnancolorful is really cool, he will send you great stuff for free just pay shipping, its from china so it will take a long time to get to you but its worth it.
eek – I went to Yunnan Colorful and added some free samples to my cart with 2 other items and they said my shipping would be $59.00! That doesn’t seem like much of a bargain.
no, thats not good at all , i paid 12.50 for my shipping which was well worth it.
Yunan was also 12.50 for me – maybe it was due to having other items in the cart. Try it with just the samples. I got all of the samples as well.
I had gotten 5 samples and 2 other small items, 12.50 shipping, i placed another order with him last night and it is 2 items shipping on it was 4.50, im not sure why such a difference in shipping for you tho, email him and ask him he is very nice i’m sure he’ll give you a code to use to get some discount :)
It’s been about a month then? hopefully you’ll have them soon. Packages do take about this long coming from yunnancolorful but I’ve always been please when my items do arrive, they taught me a lesson in patience lol
This is good to hear – I did contact them and he got back right away and said it had been shipped and I would have it soon. Then a link to what he called his “VK” which seems like some form of social networking site. Which was both interesting and bizarre. LOL
I ordered the samples from Yunnan Colorful as well, also about a month ago. I just got the package in the mail today, so hopefully yours will come quite soon, Azzrian. :)
Just a note – two months now and I still have not received a package from Yunnan Colorful. I realize they are in China but I have had 5 packages from China from various vendors (not all tea) arrive within this time. Just letting you know so you can be cautious. Because I was patient I can no longer refute the paypal payment.

thanks for these links! Also, I don’t know if they still do it, but republicoftea.com used to send one free tea bag with their catalogs. I think its worth it, since I’d really rather try a tea instead of buying their canisters with 36-50 teas when I might not like them anyway!
Teavivre for sure. Once upon a time, Joy’s Teaspoon offered a few free samples of your choosing, I’m not sure if Naomi still does that. Butiki Teas once did a free sample package, but I think that was limited edition. Who else? Hm…
If you regularly check out the discussion boards here you will probably come across a few more as they happen.

I know a few places that offer free samples with your order Teas, Etc and Verdant to name two.
Yup, TeaVivre. They give 20 gram samples, plus few samples with each order (I don’t know if it’s default, but I got mine after I asked for some while placing my order).
For those who like Japanese greens, Den’s Tea sends a sampler pack for $3, with a $3 coupon good toward your first order.

With regard to Teavivre, I couldn’t find a link on their website for samples or a sampler pack. Are we supposed to just e-mail them and ask for samples?

Here’s the link to the free samples! You simply put in your name, email, your blog (or if you don’t have a tea review blog your steepster profile) URL, and then tell them which kinds of teas you like and which you don’t. They are very prompt with their reply and send out (I believe) 5 samples.
Uniquity, I emailed Naomi of Joy’s Teaspoon and she was nice enough to agree to send me two samples of my choosing. :) I’m excited, their teas seemed a little spendy so I have to try them first.
Just saw this today in my inbox: Yogi tea (yogiproducts.com) has a “well wishes” card that also mails out two free tea bags of your choosing and a $1 coupon. I sent one to myself. Hey, I needed the “well wish” anyway! :D

Ahaha! I did that a while back! It was funny. My email said, “Dear Violet, you have recieved a well wish from Violet!” I laughed and got two great teas!
