I usually always offer samples of tea to them. When they say they only like certain things, I usually can find the perfect tea for them.
I’ve also started brewing a little extra at work and when they say it smells yummy, I then pull out the second mug I had brought up to the front counter where I work, and usually pour them a cup. It’s worked a few times.
And too, when I find a tea that I don’t like, which happens once in a blue moon, I usually offer it up to them. Then they become obsessed, just like me!
:) GO TEA!!

It depends on what type of person they are. If they’re interested in health benefits I talk about the health benefits of tea, if they like sweets or fruity drinks I give them flavored teas, and if they drink coffee I point them towards bold black teas.

For me its all about a healthy alternative to the unhealthy stuff I used to drink. I have gone from a person who lived on the Standard American Diet (processed, heavily refined, overly salted/sugared food and “foodstuff”) to one who consumes about 80% of her diet in raw vegan form. I’ve dropped 50 lbs, and when my friends and family see me drinking tea instead of the Pepsi/crack I used to live on, that’s advertisement enough! My tea habit is clearly associated with my improved health.

I bring tea balls to work and hand them out to those who are interested in trying something. If someone says s/he is catching a cold, I hand out a ginger root tea ball. You want caffeine? Try this! You want something fruity? Here’s something. Just bring me back my tea ball.

It’s fun to share a food habit that is good for you, and being a walking advertisement for the health benefits of tea makes converting people a little easier.

Interesting! I started drinking tea years ago, and only had success with weight loss after totally changing my dietary habits about a year ago or so. I will be fair though and say that I didn’t really drink much alcohol, pop or juice (calories in liquid form annoys me) so the tea was an addition rather than a replacement. Congratulations!

I invite them over to my house and serve them tea. Part of the enjoyment of tea is in the ritual and conversation that happens around it. Giving them a chance to participate in selecting which tea they want and perusing my collection starts the dialog. And I usually send them home with a pack or two of some intriguing teas to try!

I actually keep quite a few teas handy – the variety changes as I drink through them. Friends will jump in if they find one interesting and that’s usually when they get hooked on tea ^^;

I carry my LibreTeas infuser mug and some pretty tea leaves. Most of my friends ask me about it. :)

When they come over, I ask if they want tea, and when they say no, I make it anyway and set it in front of them.

It usually starts with them talking about how they want to get off coffee because it is making them too jittery. Then I jump in and start talking about tea. Sometimes I chuck good quality tea-bags at them. If they are in my dorm room, I usually offer them a cup of tea since I drink it while studying. I have turned about five people on to tea that way.

it was actually through a group of friends, (one of which works at DAVIDStea) that got me hooked on tea, they talked about it all the time, traded with on another, and always had a cup with them! After a few weeks, i caved, tried a cup of “Read my Lips” and immediately adapted to the tea drinking lifestyle, now ive made it my mission to convert my entire team, and family to give up their overpriced coffees and lattes and pick up a cup of healthy and delicious cup of tea! I preach the health benefits, delicious flavours, varieties and uses for tea, not to mention the incredible smells of a freshly brewed cup of tea :)
