Fast Food Tea
Like others in this thread, I avoid hot tea at fast food restaurants. I do however enjoy the sweet tea at Chick Fil-A and iced Tazo green tea at Starbucks.
Most of the time though when I’m outside and the mood strikes for tea, I seek out Asian convenience stores or a Whole Foods to pick up a bottle of ito-en oolong or sencha. Cheaper and way better than most commercial bottled tea and what fast food restaurants have to offer.
I always ask about a restaurant’s “hot tea” when it is on the menu.. First question is “what kind of tea” then I ask “is it loose or in a bag.”
I’ve yet to find a restaurant in my area that serves loose tea (or a quality bagged tea).
As I am on a gluten free diet hot tea would be about the only thing from a fast food restaurant I could eat. That being said I have never tried to order hot tea at a fast food restaurant.
Does milk tea count as fast food? That’s what I would consider it at least. Sweet milk tea with tapioca pearls and popcorn chicken is a super popular snack, and one I’ll take almost every day over McD’s sweet tea and chicken nuggets, although essentially they are almost the same thing.
