What tea has the most "lemony" flavor and not just aroma?

I’ve tried lemongrass (love it- when I get the right kind), and lemon soleil (from Adagio) but I’m still looking for a lemon-tasting tea that isn’t just aromatically lemon. Any suggestions? (And no, I don’t want to just make lemonade, squeeze a lemon into my tea, etc.- at least not yet!) :-)

I’ve never had it but I’ve heard that Lemon Zest from Joy’s Teaspoon is really good

Lemon Myrtle from David’s Tea is pretty fab – it’s just lemon myrtle, so you can have it as is or add it to something else for a punch of lemon.

I like their Three Lemon Green as well, though I don’t remember it to be a POW of lemon. Electric Lemon and La La Lemon (still Davids Tea) are both pretty powerful, though I remember them going bitter pretty easily.

Lemon Zest (Joy’s Teaspoon, as mentioned above) is really tasty, but not what I think of when I think lemon tea. It’s more of a lemon pie with some sweetness.

Those sound good. What about lemon verbena?

I haven’t had one – sorry!

In my experience lemon myrtle will give a more authentic lemon flavor, whereas lemon verbena is still a bit “herby”. Maybe you should try samples of both and see how you like them? :)

You said you didn’t want to squeeze lemon into your tea, but what about steeping dried lemon slices? I just bought some for adding to tea and it definitely makes things very lemony! In the same vein a lot of lemon flavored teas will have lemon peels in them.

I actually own a dehydrator. Maybe I should buy a lemon and dehydrate the peelings! I’ve thought about making some of my own teas this way. Thanks for the idea, Dinosara!
