Free!

Are you privy to any tea companies giving away free tea? These may be “no purchase necessary”, “w/ 1st purchase”, “w/ purchase of a certian value”, or “with purchase of any value”.

This long jing (dragon well) is also from the Xi Hu area of HangZhou, zhejiang province. It differs from our premium grade because this does not consist of only the buds, it has more leaves than our premium Dragon Well but for first time buyers of this tea, this is a great starter because it has the scent and similar to our premium grade. But if you compare the two, you will be able to distinguish the difference."

From Den’s Tea:

To celebrate our anniversary and to show our appreciation for your love of green tea, we have prepared several gifts for you through 2010. The first is “Lucky Gold Tea”. In Japan, gold flakes are used on food and in beverages to celebrate special occasions. At weddings, birthdays and anniversary parties, you’ll find gold flakes sprinkled on top of traditional Japanese food and pastries or floating in a bottle of sake like a golden snowstorm. Our 10th Anniversary seemed like a good time to make Lucky Gold Tea by adding some gold flakes to a cup of Den’s Tea.

As a gift to you, we will includ “Sho-Fuku-Kin” (5mg of lucky gold flakes) and a 10 gram bag of Sencha Extra Green when you order $30 or more (excluding S&H) of Den’s Tea products.

Enjoy a lucky tea time and have a prosperous year!

From Den’s Tea:
“As we announced on January, this year marks our 10th anniversary of serving the North American Tea Market. To celebrate our anniversary and to show our appreciation for your love of green tea, we have prepared several gifts for you through 2010. The second is “Award Winning Premium Gyokuro”.

This Gyokuro was grown on the Omura farm in Asahina, Shizuoka and was harvested in 2009. The Gyokuro grown on the Omura farm won an award at the last Shizuoka Tea Exhibition. In fact this tea is a frequent award winner at the exhibit.

This Gyokuro is obviously one of the best teas manufactured in Shizuoka. Its taste is quite special and is likely a taste you have not experienced. One sip will enrapture you and you’ll wish that the powerful herbaceous and Umami flavor would remain with you just a little longer.

As a gift to you, we will include a 5 gram bag of Premium Gyokuro when you order $30 or more of Den’s Tea products. Don’t miss this opportunity to add the taste of this super premium tea to your life experiences. This anniversary gift will be available to you through April 11."

It was on sale last month- really good!

We pretty much do the same thing when sourcing tea and herbs- before it becomes part of what we offer it’s always sampled (sometimes we pay for shipping but often times we get them free). It’s one thing to read about a tea or even smell it but to actually experience a cup before committing to a purchase is great.

With every in store or online purchase we include a random sample of tea. Not something we have ever really advertised but it’s something I have been doing since day one and people appreciate it.

Thanks! I just signed up for some.

Paypal wouldn’t let me checkout with $0.00 so I added a penny and it let me go through XD

Haha. Ok sorry I just updated the instructions to select ‘check’ rather than paypal. Sorry, I’ll credit you .01 on your next purchase Jenn-cha. I got your order though =)

That’s ok, don’t worry about it. It’s just a penny! I thought about hitting the back button to choose the check option but wasn’t sure what that would do to the order process.

Worked great for me – hooray for free samples!

I created an account but I never got a confirmation email. I tried resending the confirmation email, I checked my spam folder, and I tried to sign up again but it said there was already an account for my email.

hi Chrine,
I just confirmed your account and resent your confirmation email. If you still have problems putting an order through e-mail me and we’ll figure it out. Thanks!

Thanks Dan! Sorry about that. I just figured it was automated and I’d get an email sent by the computer system within 10 min or so.

Done! Thanks for the samples, Dan. You’re awesome.

mrawlins, Jenn-Cha, and Tea Bird, what are you guys trying?

@chrine, I don’t exactly remember so I guess it will be like Christmas when the package arrives. I do know that I included genmaicha and the orange oolong.

chrine – Mad Hatter, Dorian Grey, Waist Not Gypsy, and…oh what was the other…Ah! Ontario Ice Wine. I really want to see how the last compares to the Ice Wine tea from Design A Tea.

Garrett said

Hi Dan,
Just out of curiosity, are we able to get a sample of a tea that isn’t in that list?

mrawlins ~ I got the Genmaicha (I’ve never tried one and it looked cool visually) and the Orange Blossom Oolong too.

Jenn-Cha ~ I almost got Mad Hatter and I thought the Ice Wine one sounded unique. I’ll be interested to read your tealog for that one.

I also got the Carmel Puerh and the Maple Black.
