Tea Magazines
Hello :)
I am interested in subscribing to some tea publications.
What is out there, what do you read and what do you like about it?
What would you all recommend?
If you have any favorites to share please let me know. I am looking for those I can subscribe to online but prefer a NON online version – something I can lay on the sofa and read.
Good luck! I found a tea magazine but it was one of those snooty kind catering to people who drink with their pinkie up, using dainty porcelain cups (LOL!) I checked out World Tea News and am not yet sure it will work for me, as it is an industrial publication, but you might like it.
http://www.worldteanews.com/LOL I will check it out. Hey I like those dainty tea cups but I don’t hold my finger up while drinking. Unless there is someone near by I don’t like. :P
Worldteanews having the free trial right now is pretty interesting. Plus, the annual subscription fee seems pretty reasonable.
Wow, another site that does not list their payment options clearly until you’ve already filled out all your info and tried to subscribe/order/whatever. Man, do I ever hate that.
At the bottom of the subscription page it says, “If you are paying by credit card…” which seems to imply other payment options. Anybody know what they accept?
Not sure if you’ve heard of this one. My friend bought a copy when we were there but it hasn’t made its way to me yet to read:

Just found you can see if for free:

The Art of Tea out of Taiwan (I think?) is a good consumer publication. http://www.the-art-of-tea.com
http://www.teamag.com
Haven’t ever tried that one, but I may soon.

And I’ve seen Tea Time Magazine in the Tea Market and picked up a copy occasionally. I think it tends more to covering things like tea room fare and such. Recipes, etc.
Does anyone know how to get a subscription to The Art of Tea? I tried emailing the operator of their website, but didn’t receive a response.
How many issues are there annually?
I subscribed to Tea Time for awhile but it was mostly advertising and recipes, not too much on the history of taking tea and such. I was expecting something more along the lines of Victoria.
I came across this recently. Pretty informative. Some of the same people found in Art of Tea.

These seem like great links to look through. I’ve been wondering for a while about finding a tea magazine. Thank you! :)
I just finished reading “Tea: Aromas and Flavors Around the World” by Lydia Gautier. Such a concise and informative book both on straight forward, simple history as well as a useful guide to experiencing tea… observing dry and wet leaves, taste and smell profiles and tea liquor profiles. Good start point for anyone interested in a deeper practical knowledge of tea.
Tea Magazine is new and the entire focus is tea culture. Cool articles and lots of great information. I’ve gotten two issues so far and I LOVE it!!!
Awesome I will check that out! Oh so cool you just posted here … my daughter and I just made lemon cupcakes with your Lemon Zest tea! :)
Glad to know that Joysteaspoon! I paid for a subscription to http://teamag.com/ about a month ago, so I should be receiving my first issue soon.
