Silly question maybe, but I’m a bit confused. I’ve never been to either, and I know that Teaopia is becoming part of Teavana. I’m going to a mall on Wednesday that has a Teaopia, and I’m just wondering if the tea lineup on the Teavana Canada website accurately reflects what I’ll find in the store. I’m looking at the moment but don’t want to browse the site and make up a shopping list if I won’t be able to pick up anything on it, ya know? :) If anyone frequents or is familiar with Teaopia and could clear this up for me, it would be much appreciated.
As far as I know, Teaopia will stay Teaopia. I don’t know the specifics (if Teavana is assimilating Teaopia or just buying the brand) but I believe that as long as it’s called Teaopia, it’ll offer Teaopia teas… and then if Teavana re-brands the stores, they’ll offer Teavana teas.
Ah, that would make sense. The thing is that the Teaopia site redirects me to Teavana and I can’t seem to find an official, current list of Teaopia’s teas. I suppose it doesn’t matter much. I’m sure I’ll find something good either way. Thanks for the hasty reply. :)
In that case I would bet that Teaopia is going to become Teavana… I’ve never actually been to a Teaopia, but I’m fascinated by Teavana and this whole saga :) Good luck tea shopping!
They were never planning to keep much of Teaopia’s teas, unfortunately. I was told in-store today that they may be keeping the top 20 sellers.
Teaopia is not staying as a Teaopia. They are slowly merging and Teavana will keep some of the most popular teas from Teaopia. From my understanding the Teavana teas won’t be in previously Teopia stores until the beginning of August.
Yeah, looks like I’ll pick up a couple things tomorrow since I soon won’t be able to try most of it anymore.
