Non-caffeinated/Herbal Blends for Digestion/Stomach ?

What are some good blends for digestion? to drink with meals? I usually drink “Eater’s Digest” by Traditional Medicinals or “Stomach Ease” by Yogi Teas to enhance the digestive process and prevent indigestion. All suggestions are welcome and appreciated!!?

Pu-erh is helpful with digestion and I find peppermint teas to do wonders.

My sister in law has such terrible digestion issues that her doctors have recommended surgery. She absolutely loves David’s Tea’s Le Digestif for her stomach. Before she discovered that, she had fennel tea, which consists of crushed fennel seeds steeped in boiling water.

Hope that helps!

I looked at the ingredients for “Le Digestif” and it looks really good! Do they have samples or small amounts that I can order just to see if I like them??

Unfortunately, David’s Teas does not sell sample sizes online. I think they might sell something like a sample pack that includes this tea.

Ah, found it!

Though it would be sorta of silly to buy all those other teas when you only just want the one.

I see from your profile that you don’t live too terribly far from NYC. If you find yourself in Manhattan, you can pop by a David’s Tea (they have 2 locations there) and get as much or as little tea as you like. You can also get a cup to go and taste it right away. :)

Please have her try probiotics first! My daughter suffered SO SO terribly from digestion issues – at 16 years old she had a colonoscopy, an endoscopy, gastric bowl emptying study, tests for every issue you can imagine, tested for celiac, I can’t even recall everything they checked for NOTHING worked, NOTHING was “wrong” with her they said, other than the obvious horrible issues of not being able to “go”, horrific pain, cramps, vomiting, mucus, I won’t even go into the really gross stuff.
She began taking this: http://www.renewlife.com/ultimate-flora-critical-care-50-billion.html
1 a day – every day – never had one symptom since UNTIL she forgot to take them for two days and all the symptoms came right back!
I am not affiliated with this product whatsoever nor do I get any kickback for linking you this site. I TURLY believe in this product.

Thanks for the input. I’ll ask if she has tried this method. I know she’s tried everything ever since she’d much rather keep her large intestines than have them removed. Yes, it’s that bad. I do think her doctors know her problem though. I don’t know what it’s called since she tells me these German terms. But it seems that her digestive system rejects food as an invasive foreign body. She takes immune suppression drugs so she can eat. But she gets sick very often. She recently started some Chinese medicinal teas and says its been very helpful. Hopefully this will fix things for her. :(

It sounds like Gastroparesis maybe but medical terms elude me at times. So many conditions are cross sectored it seems. My daughter was checked for that as well as it is somewhat common for diabetics which she is, as am I.
At least the doctors know what it is! That is good.
I feel terrible for your sister though. :(

Yeah, I think it’s not easy for her. She’s a strong person though and generally has a positive outlook on life. :)

Good for her! Positive attitudes do help a LOT!

I find peppermint very soothing for the tummy, ditto for ginger (or a combination of them!) : )

The classics do it best for me! Peppermint and/or ginger are nearly instant relief for tummy aches.

I agree with the others, Peppermint and Ginger teas help me immensely.
I actually did a review on Organic Peppermint by Traditional Medicinals.
I have this as a staple in my cupboard.

I have an Ayurvedic Vata tea herbal blend that actually helps me with my indigestion/acid reflux. I wasn’t even expecting it to, but it worked wonders! It’s blended on a Hindu recipe the helps balance and maintain mood and such, turns out, it did wonders for my stomach. Here’s the link to it… http://www.dellaterrateas.com/ayurvedic-serenity/

Are there any teas out there that I can purchase by the pound that are similar to “eater’s digest” by traditional medicinals? http://steepster.com/teas/traditional-medicinals/11461-eaters-digest This is a really good to drink at dinner time to help with digestion and improve food assimilation:) I would like something that is tasty and caffeine-free? ;)
