Tea & Books - What are you reading?

I just finished “MICRO” by Michael Crichton and Richard Preston. Michael Crichton is always one of my favorite writers.

Now, I read one of my books again, “The Wisdom of Sam” by Daniel Gottlieb. It can soften my heart.

Definitely, “Hobbit” will be the next one again. Have to read this book again for preparing the movie in December. Can’t wait!! Caleb.

Pausing The Omnivore’s Dilemma to start the newest Thursday Next book by Jasper Fforde – it just arrived at the library for me and I’m very excited to dive in! I think this one is called The Woman Who Died A Lot?

How is the Omnivores Dilemma? I was planning on picking it up after In Defense of Food.

I find Pollan to be pretty dry and I’ve read other books on the topic that were more readable, but it’s got some pretty good research. I’m a bit of a locavore and I find his conclusions a bit different than expected, but that’s why we all have opinions. : )

Just finished Magic Bites by Ilona Andrews which is an urban fantasy and am now about to start In Defense of Food: An Eaters Manifesto. I didn’t say I made sense in my readings!

I liked Magic Bites and others in that series. Love urban fantasy.

Urban fantasy is my brain candy. More action and little to no sex is my preference, but it’s sometimes hard to find, so I was pleasantly surprised by this one.

Finished The Woman Who Died a Lot (Thursday Next number 7) by Jasper Fforde. I found it the most complicated one yet but it was wonderful. Wrapped up a couple storylines that he’s been using through the series, and also revisited some characters we haven’t seen in a long time. I desperately await the release of his next book – I think it’s another YA book next year then he is releasing the prequel to Shades of Grey in 2014. I’m a huge Fforde ffan! On that note, I’m back to Michael Pollan now. I’m almost on Part three, and things are getting a lot more interesting and readable as he gets into locavorism. I doubt that’s a word.. : )

Still reading Abraham Lincoln: Vampire Hunter, but I’ve had a lot of reading to do for school so it’s slow going. I have to finish it before the release of Cold Days and the new Iron Druid book!

I’m reading Frozen Heat by Richard Castle :D

Oh Man, did they actually have someone write the Castle books? If so, I’m so on it!

There’s Heat Wave (good but not great they do get better) then Naked Heat, Heat Rises and Frozen Heat :D I’m surprised you didn’t know, but now that you do go pick up a copy :D

They do have Derek Storm books and graphic novels too but I hear they are not as good. Plus there’s no Nikki Heat/Kate Beckitt so what’s the point?

Just booked them all at the library. My fiancee and I were wondering the other day if they would do books to go with it! Hope they’re better than God Hates Us All (the book from Californication). : )

well like I said Heat Wave isn’t all that great but they do get better so struggle through that one :D Heat Rises was Awesome!! and I’ll let you know how this one stands up when I finish :D

I’m so pleased by this, now I’m requested the library purchase the Derek Storm ones. I fell for Castle from the first episode – we’re on Season Three and we only started a fe weeks ago.

Keeping with Michael Pollan, The Omnivores Dilemma: A Natural History of Four Meals.

I wanna read this next!

I’m having a hard time trying to read it. It’s nothing against the book, I’m just not in the mood to read, a break is needed before I try this again.
