Our Final Tea from the Game of Thrones Collection: Highgarden Green Tea!

Hello, Everyone!

This is the last of the Game of Thrones teas – our Featured Reblend/Retro Monday tea – a reblend from my LiberTEAS days – renamed for GOT because it is the perfect blend to celebrate Highgarden!

Our Retro Monday Tea of the Week for April 29, 2019 is:

Highgarden Green Tea (Featured Reblend): If you were drinking my teas back when I was LiberTEAS – then you might remember this blend as it was one of my most popular blends. Back then, I called it Potpourri, but I thought that the blend would make a perfect Highgarden tea! It’s an all-organic blend of Chinese Gunpowder, laurel, lemon myrtle, jasmine, rose buds/petals and dried lemon wedges. It tastes as wonderful as I remember it – it looks gorgeous, smells dreamy and tastes amazing!

You can check out my tasting notes for this tea here: https://www.52teas.com/blog/retro-monday-tea-of-the-week-for-april-29-2019-highgarden-green-tea-our-featured-reblend/

Our Tea of the Week for April 22, 2019:

The Night is Dark & Full of Terrors Honeybush/Rooibos Blend – A blend of organic honeybush & rooibos combined with ingredients from a Dark & Stormy cocktail (get it?) but I take a few LiberTEAS with those ingredients to make it something of my own.

A caffeine free base of honeybush & rooibos blended with rum & vanilla essences, ginger root & dried lime wedges. A really tasty cuppa!

OTHER STUFF -

French Vanilla Marshmallow Assam – I am slowly (but surely!) getting caught up here and I finally got our Vanilla tea blended and now posted to the website. You can find it under D’s Teas (our permanent collection) – or you can just click here: https://www.52teas.com/ds-teas-our-permanent-collection/

Ice & Cream Black Tea – Our latest VIT blend inspired by my favorite lollipop from Lollies by Leah. For this blend, I used Bu Lang Black tea and blended in lots of strawberries, some lemons and a touch of vanilla extract. It’s a delight! https://www.52teas.com/ice-cream-black-tea/

Coconut Banana Cream Pie Houjicha/White Tea – This was recently NEWLY restocked, so we do have a few more available for those of you who missed out on the first batch! https://www.52teas.com/coconut-banana-cream-pie-houjicha-white-tea-taster/

awesome – I look forward to hearing what you think. :)

Can’t wait! I promise not to spoiler the reblended tea.

Thanks – I’ll be putting that up soon – but first I want to give the subscribers and the members of the 52Teas club a crack at those teas before they’re one the website. (one of the benefits of subscribing is that you get to “pre-order” the featured reblend of the month before it’s added to the website where it may potentially sell out before you have a chance to order it.)

I don’t watch the show, but:

Goji berry is also called wolfberry. Osmanthus flower is a pretty yellow spangle of aroma, rather than just adding calendula for color. Gunpowder green is a very distinctive shape of leaf for high visual contrast. Yunnan leaves would be smoky(?) which would add depth.

I haven’t watched the show, but from rumors, you should have a brew that turns blood red? :D

Yeah, I think approaching it as concepts instead of flavours might be a good approach. Gives you a little bit more creative freedom as well. So something that steeps blood red with a name like “Red Wedding” might be fun.

I also did a quick Google Search for some canon food/drink mentions in the show, (I’ve only personally seen seasons 1-2) and here are two of the ones that jumped out to me as big enough references that would also translate to tea flavors though:

1. The Dire Wolf shaped loaf of bread that Hot Pie bakes for Arya (Could be like a sweet bread inspired blend – Dire Wolf Cinnamon Raisin Bread? Maybe?)

2. Lemon Cakes, which are apparently Sansa’s favourite food?

Also Lamprey Pie, which is a pie with fish, wine, and spices. Maybe skip the fish, and that could be a loosely interpreted tea version?

And you could always go the route of puns? So, like, a “Jon Snowcone” blend? Idk – just reaching for ideas XD

And nothing wrong with doing a wine inspired blend!

OMG, those are hilarious! I especially love: jon snow knows nothing….about tea, White tea Walkers, and Tyrions Tieguanyin.

I know absolutely nothing about GoT, and even I’ve watched the famous Jon Snow Knows Nothing About Tea video, heh.

Thanks! I love it. I love all of the teas for this month – but I do have a few that I consider ‘favorites’. I Drink & I Know Things surprised me with how much I enjoyed it. I really love Dragonglass too – oh! Who am I kidding, I loved them all. :)
