Teavana 2012 Discontinued Teas

My order came today…all there and nothing on back order! (I feel lucky!)
I organized my tea cupboard and transferred all my new tea into tins. I officially can NEVER buy tea again.

Teavana has been really aggravating me. First, my order of 9 teas got somehow shortened to 3 teas. And today, I get a message that says 2 of those 3 teas are on backorder. I love how I’m notified of this more than 2 weeks after my initial order. This is ridiculous.

To all of you who actually got your teas, you’re lucky. Had I known this was going to happen, I would have just braved Teavana post-Christmas morning and bought it the old fashioned way. Sure, I would have had to deal with the infamous “overpour”, but at least I’d get my tea!

Calling their customer service line is useless. I was on hold for 25 minutes and nothing happened. They have a call back option, but they never call back. I was in contact with someone on Facebook, but even that conversation fizzled.

so sorry to hear that :( that really sucks.

Wow that is bad news. I just put an order in there. I hope I get all of them.

If your teas are not any of the on-sale/discontinued ones, you’ll probably be fine. I’ve ordered from them before and their shipping is kinda slow, but I didn’t have any major problems. This is my second order and definitely my last.

Oh wow yeah they were all regular price. I ordered eight different ones. The selection seemed sparse though. I always thought they had a bigger selection. Yeah I’d be uber ticked and would go elsewhere.

I ordered on the 26th, finally had someone get back to me a few days ago to say that they had no record of my order. They said they’d send a gift to make up for it, but I’ll believe it when I see it.

Sheesh that is terrible. They sure need to tighten up some things, if they plan on staying afloat in the competitive tea market.

How did you have someone get in touch with you? Did you actually call them? I haven’t been able to get in touch with anyone.

Facebook, I had left a wall comment complaining and casually mentioned to someone who replied that I wouldn’t order from them again if they didn’t make up for their screwups…then someone was eager to help me.

I posted a complaint on Facebook but never heard back. Maybe I’ll try again.

Did they say what their free gift was?

They didn’t say exactly, but they asked me to pick two teas, so I guess it’s some amount of tea. I messaged them today and asked when it should be here so it doesn’t get left in the rain, and they said 4-7 business days, so I should know friday or sometime next week.

I’ve gotten 2 “customer service tins” now, which is their free gift. Basically, it’s usually 2 oz of 2 different teas, plus their current sample. I’ve never been asked what particular teas I’ve wanted, they just put 2 in a tin and sometimes include a free tea spoon.

They tend to be pretty lenient on giving them out, too. They once sent me one just because I had to contact them to cancel an order. But of course I’m sure it all depends who you talk to.

That’s definitely better than nothing…at least it’s enough to keep me from writing off the company entirely, though I don’t think I’ll be ordering online again all the same. When they asked me the teas, I was tempted to name the two most expensive (18 and 20 per two ounces, respectively) just to be difficult, but decided against it.

My most recent one contained Maharaja Chai Oolong and Youthberry White, so they seem to have no problem with more expensive stuff. But yeah, I think they’re a torn company. Their public relations and some of their customer service team seems to try hard, while other parts of their company just seem to run by clowns. I really mostly buy Teavana because it’s accessible to me… a location is within walking distance.

I was able to talk to them this past Friday. My order arrived and three bags of Samurai hadn’t been sealed so were all over the entire box. Unfortunately it’s backordered so I’ll have to wait, but no biggie. Also my Wild Orange blossom (1lb) was backordered. Hopefully it’ll ship soon as it’s in stock now and they already charged me.

I recommend calling between 12noon and 2pm – I did have to wait but got a person after about 15-20min…just put the phone on speaker so I could hear when they picked up.
