Looking to purchase a double glassed mug

Hello everyone, I’m looking to hear some recommendations for good glass mugs. Recently I’ve realized how much I enjoy seeing the color of the tea as I sip on it so a glass mug seems to be ideal for doing just that. By recommendations, I mean online vendors or various sites that sell them.

Check out the Bodum Pavina mugs http://www.amazon.com/Bodum-2-Ounce-Double-Wall-Tumbler-Glasses/dp/B005ARH1O6 they have various sizes. The double wall doesn’t transfer heat so you can hold the mug without burning your hands

I just got these in the 8.5 ounce size, they are awesome so far!

I’ve heard wonderful things about the Bodum Pavinas; I’m considering buying an 8oz set for Western brewing and a 2oz set for gong fu.

It’s more of a travel mug, but I have the Noble from David’s Tea, and it’s lovely. I get so many compliments on it. http://www.davidstea.com/accessories/travel-mugs-2/noble-glass-travel-mug

Thanks Michelle, we had something similar at Teavana when I worked there but I’m looking for something more along the lines of a mug thats in a glass form if you feel me. Also, you’re tea tumblr is awesome, a lot of good reviews and pictures of all kinds of tasty brews.

I want the 2 oz too!

Ha, yeah, I’ve tried the Teavana one too… but dropped it and it broke! (No surprise there.) And thanks! :)

I use the Libre Tea travel mug on a daily basis. I love it and am continuously receiving compliments and questions on how to use it. I’ve had mine for a little over a year. here is a link to the sight. http://retailshop.libretea.com/Libre-glass-n-poly-Original.html

I have this: http://www.adagio.com/teaware/clarity_cup.html?SID=bc28943b12163a800c6ba314339138d3 from Adagio that has more of that mug feel. It feels a bit delicate but I haven’t had any issues (than again I don’t break stuff like this often/ever).

I had one of those and the handle broke off, didn’t even drop it!

Bummer! Did you contact Adagio about it?

James R said

Not worth the trouble, glass always breaks eventually.

Adagio probably would have replaced it in a second – their customer service might be the best I’ve ever seen.

That is true, I’m lucky enough to have one of their stores about 20 minutes from my house, the staff is great

I’m actually kind of glad there isn’t a store close, I think I’d go broke!

I managed to break both mugs in a set of Pavinas. They were lovely while they lasted though!

I saw a lot of comments saying they were very fragile so it’s not just you :( What a shame, I was about to order them.

I had the Bodums and although it is a great concept, mugs never get hot on the outside and keeps tea warm, they are extremely fragile. I handled them with care but still broke all 4 mugs I had in my set.

I have a set of DavidsTea’s double walled tea glasses, like normal hi-ball glasses, but double walled, they’re extra special when you use them with The Steeper, as you can see the tea steeping then draining into your glass. They don’t seem to have them on the website anymore, but you could always see if they can track some down. Not a mug, but still very cool.
