Matcha-Thon for the rest of today...who's in?
Azzrian and I were chatting…I just started my own personal Matcha-thon for the rest of today…anyone else want to play?
Okay I will do it – I have two samples from Amanda to try, and some samples I still have enough of from other generous steepsters – other than that just some pretty basic matcha I have had around but not too favorable of.
I need to get some choices made on my first Red Leaf order (as you know from our PMs) so I am totally in this with you!
Will go make my first now .. I’m thinking PEACH :)
Oooo Peach!? Niiiice! Want me to send the rest of my Chocolate Read Leaf to you?
You know I do. lol
wow you pump out the matcha making like a pro!
I am still learning so taking my time not to mess it up.
I want to make another before going to get my daughter from work but I can’t push it with only sample sizes to make.
Holding off till I return but drooling wanting more lol
Ahh… no. I have already downed a tea shot for energy (busy trying to clean up the garage, it’s a HUGE job, but it has to get done!) and if I drink Matcha for the rest of the day, I’ll never settle down so that I can sleep. LOL!
I will do it.
I need to write some long reviews, may as well fuel myself as I do them ;)
First in the cup will be… Caramel & Banana Matcha!
I wish I could. Six hours of work left and next to no matcha left. )= I have to spend two hours squinting at microfiche, so I’d certainly need it.
But if I don’ work, no more matcha…sigh.
I’m in! I am super tired so this is just what I need.
I have never tried a matcha tea. :S Anyone recommend a good one to start with?
@BoxerMama – I generally suggest starting with a pure, unflavored Matcha because it will give you a foundation on what Matcha is like … there are a lot of flavored Matcha out there, and it’s easy to get yourself hooked on those (they’re so yummy!) but, a pure Matcha will give you an idea of what Matcha is like first. My personal favorite is the Organic Ceremonial Matcha from Aiya, although it’s a bit pricy. If you’re on a budget, I’d recommend Den’s Tea because it’s really good, and a bit more modestly priced. If you prefer to forgo the shipping, visit your local Whole Foods (if you have one nearby) and check out DoMatcha. They’re really good too, not real inexpensive, but, when you factor in the fact that you’re not paying shipping costs, that might be the most economical option overall.
Has anyone ever tried the White matcha from Red Leaf?
More specifically their flavored white matcha.
Yes! I have…I think I reviewed it! I have it on hand here but will have to wait until tomorrow to re-try it
I could not find any flavored white matcha reviews under Red Leaf but just curious how the white is with flavor over the green. Thanks keep me posted please :)
Here is a link to my review of the white Matcha from Red Leaf: http://sororiteasisters.com/2011/11/16/white-matcha-from-red-leaf-tea/ It’s different from the green matcha, but still very good.
I contemplated ordering the Bavarian Cream matcha. It’s a sort of morbid curiosity akin to watching Oreos being fried at the county fair…
I would, if I had more than one kind, not much of a marathon, Unfortunately it is Teavana’s. Free tins the boss lady gave us when their expiration dates came around, she was convinced they were still good though sealed. I may actually toss the one I have had open for months and pop open the sealed one as I am wary. I would love to have some mango, raspberry or carmel and apple matcha to be drinking, you all have me drooling. Need to take advantage of Red Leaf’s review offer. Perhaps I will do something creative with what I have on hand. I could make my own matcha and local bee pollen latte (nothing on hand for smoothies). Anyone ever made matcha pancakes? Ooo I know I can make my own watermelon matcha!
