DavidsTea opening in San Francisco this Saturday!

To those lucky enough to be able to attend, DavidsTea is making its way into its second major city in the US this Saturday! And everyone gets a free cup of tea!

I’m on the other side of the country so I can’t get free tea, but if you are nearby, take advantage. :)

Right now they are in very limited markets in big cities like New York and now San Fransisco. My guess is they will come to more urban areas first like Portland, Seattle, and Chicago before they come to the smaller areas. Which is a bummer, because I’m in Florida :(

It may be a possibility, though.

If you look on the career page, you’ll see listings for store managers in Illinois and Connecticut. Looks like I was right about the Chicago area – woot.

I love the idea of Davids spreading around the country! It’ll really open people’s eyes to the world of looseleaf! I only wish Lupicia would have similar ambitions.

I would be soooo broke if they opened a Lupicia anywhere near me. It IS available in several Asian markets but for a crazy price ($13+ for 50g of their cheaper teas)

They are pricy but sooooo tasty! Super grade momo oolong. mmmm…

Man, Chicago is apparently the place to be for tea these days. You’ve got Adagio, Argo, and now DavidsTea.

Excellent will check them out next time we visit! They also have the only U.S. TeaGschwender, I wasn’t very impressed with Argo, but I suppose its good for grabbing a beverage.

There are a couple of Argo Teas in NYC as well and I wasn’t too impressed either. I thought maybe I just ordered a particularly uninteresting beverage. I’m going to give them another chance at some point. I’m always rooting for the tea places. :)

Never got a chance to visit Argo when I was in NYC (Harney and David’sTea were more important). It’s a bummer people weren’t impressed, but I agree that a tea place is a tea place and anything is good for making tea more popular.

I want to live above TeaGschwendner because it is also next to a Chipotle hahaha. I wasn’t impressed with Argo either, however the mojito tea drink is fantastic with sparkling water.

If I lived near one I’d probably give it several goes, but I was just visiting Chicago for the afternoon with my husband’s best friend and Adagio and TeaGschwender were my real destinations, Argo was just a pit stop.

Come on Southern California! Right now it looks like I need to do a trip to San Fran one day.

I miss DavidsTeas so much! I used to live by the one in Burnaby BC and it was awesome.

Thanks for the support everyone! On top of the ones already listed, we’re looking into some other US markets and will be announcing at least one new city by the end of the year.

Oh, and if you guys have any recommendations, we’d love to hear them!

There are at least three places in Atlanta I can think of BUT they’re all practically stalled projects thanks to the events of 2008. Of course in several years time things could be completely different, finally.
There’s Atlantic Station, which actually fully exists and is going through some changes for the better.
Then there’s the Midtown Mile which does somewhat exist, but just isn’t really a mile yet.
And then there’s Buckhead Atlanta which is a ton of cranes, but changed developers so one day maybe it will be something.

I’d love to recommend Florida, either in the Tampa or Orlando area.

… Hey, it’s worth a shot!
