Which for a morning cuppa? Big Red Robe or Oriental Beauty?

I’ve got a good-sized stash of samples from Teavivre to go through, and I’ve tried all the blacks (fantastic, by the way). So I think I want to try another oolong tomorrow morning. With a baby and a toddler, mornings can get really harried. So rather than me trying to make this decision and then not getting to make a cup until mid morning, how about y’all talk it over while I’m sleeping, and I’ll come back and see the results during the kids’ breakfast?

Options have been pared down by the first two comments!

Here are the options, both from Teavivre:
Taiwan Oriental Beauty (Bai Hao) Oolong Tea
Da Hong Pao (Big Red Robe) Wuyi Rock Oolong Tea Fujian

Thanks!

oo fun!
If I were having an oolong in the morning, I would choose the Big Red Robe as opposed to the buttery, green oolongs. It has a kick and a nice deep flavour that (I think) would do a good job waking up your senses! A nice strong aroma too!

I agree with daisy. I also think the Oriental Beauty is a solid choice. It has a natural fruity and honey sweet profile but also a grounding roasty autumnal flavor. Soothing to the spirit after a hectic morning. The Big Red Robe is also really tasty.

Big Red Robe! But that’s just because I prefer roasty oolongs that remind me more of black tea, and Big Red Robe does that for me. : ) Have a lovely morning!

It just so happened that I went with the Big Red Robe a little more than an hour ago. Got through only one steep though. I’ll work on the next two during the afternoon. It was good for the morning cuppa though. Good choice, y’all!

But tomorrow morning’s choice is made up now too. I’ll try the Oriental Beauty since that was the runner-up from the six original choices I gave!
