How much caffeine is there in sun/cold brewed tea?

Lately I’ve been brewing a lot using these methods and I’ve been wondering if someone could tell how much caffeine release is there involved.

I read somewhere that the decaffeination process is done mostly with water as caffeine is very water soluble, so I would imagine it doesn’t make much difference. I cold brew mine and assume it’s the same, though I could be wrong…

That’s generally what I assume as well.

I can tell you from my own experiences which are not scientific. When I cold brew I seem to feel less caffeine symptoms than hot brewed. The difference is such that I would drink cold brewed black tea in the evening, but wouldn’t even consider hot brewed black tea. I’m pretty sensitive to caffeine affects. again, this is purely personal experience. As far as research, I’ve read conflicting things out there so I’m not sure what would be a good source. Maybe someone else has a better idea?
