My first pu-ehr purchase. How'd I do?

Copy/pasted from teachat. :)

Hey guys, just thought I’d make a post to say I made my first pu-ehr purchase from Yunnan Sourcing since I’ve heard so many good things about them!

I purchased a 400 gram cake of: 2011 Yunnan Sourcing “Cha Qi” Raw Pu-erh Tea cake *

And I also bought a 25 gram sample of: 2012 Yunnan Sourcing “Yi Wu Purple Tea” Raw Pu-erh tea cake *

All for $42.55!

I purchased the “Cha Qi” cake because of the review of the cake Yunnan Sourcing did in the description of the cake underneath, and I purchased the Yi Wu purple sample because I had a few dollars left to spare!

I was going to purchase all samples but it was the same price for about 250 grams of samples when I got 425 grams for a cake and a sample for the same price. :)

let me know how this is. did you get if from yunnan sourcing u.s.a.?

Yep I did. Shipping from Yunnan Sourcing USA was I believe about $10. It’s double that with the chinese site so it’s cheaper (if you’re in the states) to buy from the US site.

yeah yunnan usa is way cheaper. usually takes them about 2 days to get it ready to ship. they have a menghai 2007 jade luster that is superb!

Sounds delicious! Could you link me? I can’t find it on their site.

The shipping is cheaper, but the selection is not as big :/

I still prefer their Chinese site, if I am not in a hurry

They’re pretty good! The Cha Qi cake has a pretty big ‘kick’ to it in the taste. It’s really good with a bit of honey added. The Yi Wu is very mellow and nice with some honey. Both I recommend! The Cha Qi gives a nice peaceful calm with it after I do 3 western style steeps. (5 minutes, 10 minutes, 10 minutes) with 2 teaspoons of tea. :)
