Grimm Tea

Today I was watching the latest episode of Grimm, and the scene started with Monroe in the spice shop. He began by explaining the difference between gyokuro and sencha. Way to go Grimm…promotin informed tea culture!

I know! I loved that part! I was thinking ‘Monroe likes his tea!’ He is my favorite on the show. I didn’t realize it was SUPPOSED to be partly a tea shop until the last episode.

I love Grimm and Monroe is my favorite character on the show as well. And the fact that he loves tea makes him all the more loveable to me. It was awesome! Hubby was like “oh gawd … it’s bad enough that Patrick Jane has to drink tea in every episode of The Mentalist, but now Monroe has to be a tea drinker too?”

I just Just watched “Red Carpet Treatment“. Jane says “Tea? It’s like a hug in a cup.”

I am starting to wonder if their research team figured out that tea people like Grimm. It seems like quite a few people have seen it. Hmmm. I know the first season was modified during the course. Hmmm. Grimm.

I just saw that! yay! Although I’m not sure I’d describe Gyokuro as spicy…

I kinda enjoy Grimm sometimes, but I’m kinda confused about where the story is going. And lots of plot things don’t make sense to me. Ah wells. Monroe is awesome!

I live just minutes away from Portland, and we are extra careful now when we’re driving around to make sure that we’re not accosted by Blutbots or Lausenschlanges or Jagarbars.

The direction of the show has been tweeked a couple of times. You can tell by the storybook feel being replaced for a darker feel. I think the producers were trying to find the right way to please an audience. However, the end goal is still not clear. They cannot hope to keep us with the mystery of the royal family. Of course I keep watching though. Maybe I’m a hypocrite. Lol.

Yes, this must be the reason for my dissatisfaction with this show. It seems to have no clear direction with the story. Every time something big happens I’m like “where are they going with this?” I wouldn’t even watch Grimm anymore if my husband didn’t want to see it.

Perhaps they felt the need to drop the Storybook feel due to the other show on called Once Upon a Time.
I like the darker edge now though.
I guess they figure between the royals and the love story line they can keep people interested but they do need more consistency.
Other shows with tea references are NCIS Los Angeles, and Person of Interest.

I think the darker turns might honestly be because of Supernatural. I mean, the premises are pretty similar and they were actually on at the same time last season—so perhaps they’re trying to mimic a more popular show and at the same time distance themselves from Once Upon A Time?

Unrelated but I love Supernatural! Thinking I should check out Grimm and Once Upon A Time now.. : )

I was getting bored by Grimm until they changed the tone of the show and picked things up again. Very happy with it, currently. Once Upon a Time is the greatest show in recent memory. I just love the creativity in storytelling. Without leaking any spoilers…There is this one episode that is all about how Grumpy dwarf got his name. At one point, I literally clapped my hands in glee, thinking gosh, I would’ve never thought of things that way. So, so great.

Sort of related.. Last night on Gossip Girl – in the middle of a heated argument between two characters – the third character left the room to go make tea. Then when the dust had settled, they sat together drinking tea. Yay tea!!!

I have another sort of related – on Avatar one of my favorite characters is Zuko’s uncle because he loves tea.
