How does tea fit into your morning routine?

Function and form = that cup of tea be it 1, 2, or more. At least one a day and then some. There is breakfast and there is a cup of tea! thank you, I am not being annoying I hope.

I usually make a tumbler of black tea in the morning before I head to class, and if I remember to, I fill a t-sac with another tea – usually either a black or a mate blend – and get hot water in between my two morning classes. If I don’t remember or have time to make the t-sac though, I usually get an espresso from the coffee shop under my class :)

I’ve tried to get up early enough to prep myself a travel mug of tea before we leave the house in the morning. It doesn’t work that well. So I usually end up buying a cup of tea or a tea latte at this great little cafe near my work. Then I tend to make whatever teas I have stashed in my desk.

Actually, for most mornings, tea does not fit into my routine. My morning routine sort of goes like this. Drag myself out of bed at 6:30 to make sure my youngest is out of bed. Crawl back into bed until 7:15, make her lunch, and once she’s off to school, I crawl back into bed until around 11 am. By then, most of the morning is gone, and that’s the way I like it. Morning and I just don’t get along and I’ve found that if I don’t bother Morning, it won’t usually bother me too much.

My first cup of tea is not consumed usually until around noon.

I usually make a cup first thing when I get to work while waiting for all my programs to come up on my computer. Always a straight black of some kind, though not for the caffeine. I just usually don’t want anything froofy before 7 am. :) Drink about half while it’s still hot. The rest usually sits till it gets cool when I take a short break for breakfast. After that first cup, I usually steep the same leaves again at least once. So at least 2 large cups before about 9 is my morning ritual. After 9 it depends on who speaks up first (and whether or not we have any milk) as to whether or not we do a pitcher of chai for Tea Club or something else. :)

First thing in the morning, is a matcha smoothie to kick the day off. While i’m making that, i’m usually brewing a tea to drop into my travel mug for drinking later in the morning once I’m at work without access to my full stash! Travel mug keeps the tea super hot for 3-4 hours, so even if i don’t get to it right away, it’s still warm enough to drink at noon lol

Must always have black tea in the morning. I’m back to bagged during the week for convience reasons while the weekend is for loose leaf. I often switch between adding milk or not in the morning cup but its always sweetened either way. I don’t really like to do anything until I’ve had my morning mug of tea.

I love mornings and get up at 6 am to start getting ready for work – there is no tea though. Some days there is a shower, then brekkie and some reading until I have to get dressed and roll out the door by 7:20 to commute to work. I like to spend my morning time reading and/or writing and I always have breakfast and at least two big cups of water. I used to make tea first thing in the morning as well but between drinking the water and waiting for the tea to cool I felt sloshy and the tea never got finished by the time I had to brush my teeth. I wish I worked a bit later in the day so I could have more time in the morning, but I refuse to get up earlier than 6 am most of the year. It’s dark that early! : )

The first thing I usually do in the morning is have a small glass of cold oolong or black tea from the fridge, I always wake up thirsty and dry mouthed. i’ll be sipping cold tea while preparing for me hot tea :)
