Flavored vs. Unflavored - what's your preference?

We started out primarily as a flavored tea company due to customer demand. That said, I know a lot of you out there love pure teas. Our grower has an amazing selection of Pure Assam teas fresh from his garden, and I am thinking of adding a handful to our line. Before I do, I wanted to get some feedback from the group. Thanks!

I do like flavored tea sometimes, but the majority of what I drink is unflavored.

My true favourites tend to be unflavoured Chinese blacks and roasted oolongs. I drink a lot of flavoured teas, but only because I have a lot of them. I think it is always a wise idea to offer some high quality unflavoured teas in addition to flavoured ones, creating more options for buyers of different tastes.

About 85% unflavored. BUT I truly can enjoy a nicer flavored tea as well. Some of my favorites are: rose, jasmine, coconut, earl grey, anything citrussy.

Depends on my mood! From my notes it seems like I drink mostly flavored, but my morning tea is always unflavored (assam or bailin gongfu) and after a heavy meal I go straight for a nice light oolong (bao zhong preferably). Afternoons and late night I tend to prefer flavored, though—fruity or floral in the afternoon, dessert-y late at night. Oh or herbal, which I guess falls somewhere in between.

I LOVE flavored teas! I love it when they taste like sweet treats such as pies, cookies, ect. I like it when different flavors compliment each other in teas, much like a well spiced and balanced dish. Plain teas are okay too, but it’s not where my tea passion resides.

It seems that unflavored is quite popular. We will definitely be adding more pure teas to our selection.

I drink both. I love the true flavor that comes through while sipping a cup of pure tea that’s been unadulterated by flavoring oils and other additives, but, my passion for tea actually began with a cup of chocolate tea, and I still love a good flavored tea as well.

Put simply, I just love tea, whether it’s pure or flavored.

One can always add flavoring to an unflavored tea. I personally love my Torani syrups, and can turn any unflavored tea (even pu-erh) into a dessert tea — AND I control the amount of flavor strength. Although I do buy flavored teas to try for fun, on the whole I like the fact that if I can enjoy my tea plain or otherwise, I can buy larger amounts of good quality tea and not risk having it go stale.
