What is the best Black tea based Chai?

What is the best black spiced chai in your opinion? I love chai with milk and want to order some loose leaf as I’m all out of chai in any form. I’ve only tried tazo bags and Oregon chai concentrate so all the loose chai is a bit intimidating. What are your favorites? No chocolate or roobios blends interest me at the moment. Still not sure how I feel about either of those in my tea.

I really like Golden Moon’s Kashmiri Chai:

It has green and black teas in it, but it is wonderful with milk. I like it so much that I just ordered a half pound bag of it :)

Someone here told me Kashmiri Chai are green based when I asked the difference between Kashmiri and Masala…

TheGolden Moon site reports that they use both:

Kashmiri Chai is a unique tea blend with a smooth, rich and robust flavor. You will love this Kashmiri Chai tea because it is a rare combination of black and green tea with the best quality cardamom seeds, cloves, spice oil and cinnamon.

This is my first Kashmiri Chai so I can’t compare to any others – but I found it unique and delicious!

I may have to try a sample of that, I was checking out a few of their other teas and they look affordable to sample!

The sampler of everything they offer is only 19.99 and I’m not sure if it works still, but code STEEPSTER may get ya free shipping :)

I blame you Jacqueline for giving me that coupon code, i just ordered the chai and the sampler :)

I definitely have to second Jacqueline on the Kashmiri Chai. I love it! ♥ And the free shipping coupon she mentioned worked last weekend, so hopefully it’s still in effect now. :)

But I know a lot of people also love Adagio’s Masala Chai, which I haven’t tried yet.

If you like cayenne and chocolate in your chai, you must try 52teas Mayan Chocolate Cha!=D Otherwise you could always just buy a spice mix (sans tea) that you enjoy or make your own and add it to whatever black tea (flavored or unflavored) that you want. That way you can get, not only the flavor, but the tea/spice ratio you want as well.

If you drink your tea with milk, I’d suggest an Assamese chai. Teas from Assam are much bolder, (due to a plant with broader leaves,) and where I find most teas just kind of mix with milk, it really compliments the Assam teas.
