How big are the Davids Teas tins?
The website lists them as 450ml but I’m not sure what that works out to in ounces. Are they pretty big? I only have my teas in the 3oz bags from Adagio so far and I’m looking to upgrade to something a bit prettier!
It depends on what tea you put in it. The average, I’ve found, is that 100g is approx 3/4 of the tin. Fluffier teas take up more space with less weight, and denser teas do the opposite. But 100g will usually get you at least 3/4 of the way full.
Yeah, when I tried to convert ml to oz I got 15oz which is a lot, so I figured there had to be a better way to measure! xD
I think 100 g is 3.5 ounces or something like that, so you should be good to go! : ) When I buy things in ounces I always think I’m getting ripped off. “Wait, I only get 1???” : )
I only have one… Which houses rock sugar right now, but I would definitely say they could easily hold 3oz
i have a dented silver tin that i’ve been unsure what to fill it with. SUGAR. right now my sugar is in a glass mason jar and it’s fairly annoying to open it. thanks for the idea!
(seems like such a no brainer, but i honestly ONLY think of tea when concerning those tins. i am apparently locked away inside the creative box lately.)
I just checked one of my David’s tins. It depends on the tea, as Shaynebear said, but I was able to put 100 gm or 3 1/2 oz in it.
