Looking for Replacement Finum Infusers

Leafhopper I think what Martin is saying is that you should NOT get any of the straight powder solution directly onto your strainer but it is perfectly fine once it is mixed in and diluted in boiling water. Just like you would not pour chlorine bleach right out of the bottle and directly onto stained white clothing but it would be okay to put it in the washing machine once it was full of water, then the clothing was added. The dilution is the key.

Start by using LESS of the Safe Bleach to start. You can always do a second soak using more if your first round does not give you the cleaning power you need. FYI-hydrogen peroxide in the mix is a great stain remover. I have cats. One of them, Gemstone, my Snowshoe Siamese, died of oral cancer last year. She had a cancerous mouth lesion that would weep and sometimes she would bleed onto one of my antique quilts. I could not throw it in the wash due to age and fragility, but spot treating the blood stain with liquid hydrogen peroxide and a cold water rinse under the tap always solved the stain problem. My quilt is still beautiful and intact. Sadly, my cat did not make it. RIP-Gemstone.

Ah, correct! Not a great English day for me today.

Sad story about your cat, but it explained how powerful H2O2 can be :)

Martin and White Antlers, that explanation makes sense. I’ll just remember to add the infusers after I dissolve the Safe Bleach. I won’t be leaving home for a while, but will pick this up when I can. I might also be able to get OxiClean if that would work better.

White Antlers, sorry to hear about your cat.

Leafhopper thanks. Gemstone had a good life. I wish cats lived longer.

The Safe Bleach should work well if it’s all you can get. I am excited for you having barnacle free diffusers eventually. : )

Let us know about the results after you try that stuff :)

Martin, will do! I probably won’t venture out for a few more days, but will pick it up during my next round of errands.

Canadian Amazon carries OxiClean. Looks like it is less expensive than pure sodium percarbonate, too. https://www.amazon.ca/OxiClean-Versatile-Remover-Perfumes-1-36-kg/dp/B00LM9475W/ref=sr_1_11?dchild=1&keywords=sodium+percarbonate&qid=1607276288&sr=8-11

You could also try soaking your infuser in vinegar overnight.

Thanks, dragondrool, I might try that. I’ve attempted to clean them with baking soda in the past, but have had limited success since they’re so clogged.
