Pairing green teas with music

Music and tea have always been a shared experience for me. I recently started pairing tea with musicians that compliment the subtleties of the specific blend and it has morphed into a means for helping independent artists get distribution for their songs. The idea stemmed from a album release party for one of my own bands (I am a drummer) and I was tired of the standard mp3/vinyl/live show combination. We organized a “tea party” and included links to download in the tea we distributed to guests.

I thought it would be fun to see what types tea others think go well with specific artists or genres. Currently, I am doing Japanese green tea paired with folksy, roots artists but think there is room for a lot of different genres. Here is more information on the project:

Let me know if you would like links to the musicians or info on the corresponding teas.

I would love to be a part of this.

Awesome! The first round of the project will be Gyokuro, Sencha, and Genmaicha paired with folk singers that sound similar to this http://phillomac.bandcamp.com/album/strangers-funeral. We are keeping people notified through Kickstarter and the site (links in the original post) so make sure to sign-up!

Do you have any suggestions for other styles of teas and music genres you would like to see paired?

I’ll think on it and get back to you (have followed you)
