Here is a blog post about another pumidor, nice pumidor btw Mopar!!

http://listeningtoleaves.blogspot.com/2013/01/pumidor-progress-report.html

Everyone above has stated some really long answers so here is a short version:

No strong odors
Some humidity (A lot of the numbers listed above are too high, just my opinion :) )
No direct sunlight

I recommend you buy puer direct from China if you can find a good vendor

Thanks Grace! A very nice post! I have a couple of pretty good contacts in china although the shipping is kind of high but I get authentic products from them.

Yep shipping is very high, but the selection is better. Cant find enough good pu in the states – even in China it is a challenge!!

If you have something special you are looking for message me, my agent over there may be able to help. I have a pretty big order on the way this week with things I was unable to find over here.

I wish I knew of a good vendor, but I don’t know enough about pu’erh to know exactly what I am looking for. I think I need to try more samples of different things before I make any big purchases.

I don’t like that beef jerky/smokey flavor that is in a lot of uncooked pu’erh, and I’d really prefer to be able to buy young pu’erh that I can enjoy now and for years down the road.

Where I live is just too dry for collecting puerh (can’t afford a humidor) so I’ll have to drink up my collection.Since I’m old,it’s a good idea anyway.

And mopar did you separate your raw and ripe??? Or is it a mix of both? I see the top is mostly ripe!!

Do you like the red robe from Dayi? (红妆)

Whoops should have put this on the other reply. Yes the shou is in the fridge part and the sheng is in the freezer part. Definitely keeping them separate. Yes the big red robe from Dayi is pretty good! Thank you for the link on the other site! We all learn by information, the more I have the better to base my decisions on.

John! Some guys’ll load their refrigerator with beer, but not you!! I’m glad to hear that you are rotating the teas regularly… I was a bit concerned about the fans drying the teas that they are blowing on… do the fans only come on intermittently and is there fresh air exchange from outside the fridge? It’s funny to look in your stash and see some stuff in your stash that used to be in our stash :) Awesome!!! Thanks for sharing and keep me posted on the experiment. Aint’ it fun??

Garret, I rotate a shelf left to right every other day and take off the stacks and reverse them top on bottom and reverse the stack. the fans go all the time to avoid any mold starting from stale air. I have humidity beads in there and it is staying about 60% and the temp about 70 to 75f. I open the door every other day for about 15 mins and even keep an air purifier in the room that the fridge is in. Haha you are right I have a bunch of stuff that used to be in yours!! I will keep you posted if you look close you will see your ’Phatty cake" on the bottom shelf aging away. I hope to put a “Noble Mark” beeng in there soon.
