Breville One-Touch Tea Maker BTM800XL

Does anyone know if there will be any discounts, or specials, for this tea maker during the holidays?

I’d like to put it on my Christmas list, but I want to get the best deal——-lowest price with free teas, free shipping, free gift wrapping, or some other great freebie.

If you get it at Bed Bath & Beyond they often send 20% off coupons in the mail.

That’s a great idea! Does BB&B carry it? I have a coupon right here!

Hmmm… well… my response was going to be “well of course, that’s why I suggested it.”- sure glad I did some investigating 1st. I was going to post the direct link for you, but I can’t seem to find it online anymore. It was there just a couple weeks ago. Maybe you can find it instore?

I’m going to call my store and ask.

Too funny, Cofftea——I only wondered because I’ve only seen it listed at higher-end stores, like Williams Sonoma or Sur la Table. It would be great if it was more widely stocked.

I got an email from Bed Bath and Beyond after asking to be emailed about the Breville being back in stock (it was out of stock) stating that they are having difficulties getting any stock would not be carrying the item.

Yeah, I couldn’t find it at Bed Bath nor at other department stores. Some Williams Sonoma carried it, but not all. Your best bet is to order it from Samovar or American Tea Room. I know you can apply coupons on Samovar’s website for the Breville.

Thank you for the info, Meghann & Ricky.

Where might I find Samovar coupons?

Alright… so don’t get me wrong. I LOVE BREVILLE. Love ‘em.
But I have a reservation about this product. Foremost… the pitcher isn’t glass. It’s some version of plastic. And it affects the taste of the tea a bit.
That’s the biggest dealbreaker for me. (I’ve used the device.)
In spite of that, it’s pretty cool. Personally, I prefer more traditional methods: glass, clay, yixing… things that will keep the taste of my tea as pure as possible.
But, in an office setting, or in the morning when you’re getting ready for work… this item is practical and the first of it’s kind if you’re a loose tea fanatic.
(I also have a Tea Drop. It’s a worthy and much less expensive alternative if you’re looking for a practical alternative to brew teas that aren’t overly sensitive.)

It is glass. It doesn’t affect the taste of the tea. The teadrop is a glorified coffee maker ( at least that’s what a huge percentage of amazon buyers say… stay away!)

One Touch = One AMAZING product. Pricey, but if you are borderline get it! High quality and great tea brewing. Customizable temp with custom brewing time. I have it brew and keep warm so on the way out the door to work, tea brewing is as easy as coffee!

Do yourself a favor if you want automatic, you drink lots of tea, and you want a great experience, it is worth it. Nothing like keeping a kettle hot for an hour and serving to friends.

I was border line… splurged, and don’t regret it. If you get it from William Sonoma, they have a 90 day return w/receipt policy I believe. Try it out and return it if you don’t like it. I’m pretty sure THAT won’t be a problem.

Just so you know the $250 is the discounted price as the SRP is $300. We bought quite a few and are one of the largest sellers of the One Touch. It is amazing. Breville gave us a test unit in April 2010 and we got our first ones to sell in May. Everyone loves them.
Sure it takes a bit of the art of making tea away, but it is an awesome appliance. Also if you look at most discount coupons (ours included) Breville is usually always excluded (same for Electrolux and other products). There is not a huge margin on small electrics and there are many places that compete so $250 is the best price you will probably find this at. We do have a few left in stock but it seems people are coming out of the woodwork online to buy these as most other retailers are out and will not be getting replacement stock until February if at all.

Not sure I’d use the word “best” to describe the $250 price tag since I don’t recall seeing it any other price.

Just tack on ATR’s 20% coupon and it’ll be the best price.

@ Ricky: Unfortunately our coupons are not valid on Breville (or Bodum or Gourmet Food). Also our 20% off coupon expired 12/19 — but thanks for noticing.

Ooh, I just got this as a Christmas gift.

I haven’t tried it yet, but it looks beautiful. Even better than I thought from photos, but not as space-consuming as I had worried for my small condo kitchen.

I didn’t even think it was available in Canada. I called Williams Sonoma to ask if they carried it and they said no, only in the U.S. Yet my mother went to another location in the same city and they had one left and Crate and Barrel apparently had a bunch.

Yay! what a wonderful holiday gift.

I do believe that I will attempt to talk my hubby into getting one of these when we get our tax refund in the coming year. I will have to shop around at that time… Since I know that Le Gourmet Chef does sell Breville products I will have to check them out when the time comes, who knows, maybe they will actually have it and I can get a good price there. Otherwise, I will have to shop around for a good price. Won’t be shopping with American Tea Room though, no matter how low a price they offer as I’d rather shop with companies that appreciate their customers.

Cofftea said

Completely agree w/ your last sentence, but you shoudn’t have to search too far. Almost all places I’ve seen it are selling it for $249. At least the price is consistant.:)

@Cofftea, yes I know that most are selling it for $249, I am just hoping for a lower price, or at least a bonus/incentive like free tea with purchase like Sur La Table was offering last year at the time of the machine’s release. I’m hoping that the new year will bring about some lower prices on it.

Ok I did it. I bought it today online from Samovar using the $50 off for $25 from livingsocial I got. Since I’m from CA I had to pay taxes but it still was a discount over anywhere else.

Soo…. when am I going to get a shipping notice?

Yeah I’m a bit anstsy.

I got the livingsocial deal too, but I don’t know if I want to use it for the Breville (because I am thinking I want to use it for their matcha). But I might. Depends on how fast the tax refund comes in!

wooo!

I don’t know when it will ship. They don’t seem to use USPS and I’m not sure if Samovar observes MLK. If they don’t it will go out tomorrow I think because UPS and Fedex pick and deliver tomorrow if they do observe I’ll have to wait till Tuesday for it to ship.

I feel kinda crappy secretly hoping they work on MLK. I can wait an extra day. I’ve waited for months.

I am so upset! I went to make my tea this am and the basket is not lowering into the water when it is supposed to. I have unplugged the breville, made sure the basket is on correctly and it still isnt working! Tried calling Breville but they are not in yet. I have only had mine for about 3 months and I absolutely love it. I can’t believe it is not working properly!!
Any one have any tips? Has this happened to anyone else?

Kristen said

Ok I just got off the phone with Breville and they had me hold the hot water button down to reset it… and it is working again! SO HAPPY!!!! I was in near panic mode thinking about the possibility of going without it!!!!

Good to know!

oh no! i haven’t had that happen yet but good to know

Kristen said

He had me unplug the unit first then hold down the hot water button for 10 seconds… then I plugged it back in and did a tea cycle and it worked. I guess doing that resets it. I was so glad it worked!

me too… I got worried when I read this at first, because I am planning on getting one of these in the next couple of months and I didn’t want to get it if the customer service people didn’t come through for you. (customer service really is everything)

I have 2 breville kettles, my mom has had 3? – right now the standard kettle is at work, the one touch is at home, mom has the var breville at work and the one touch at home and used to have the standard one (i stole it)

we’re talking years here – the products are durable and customer service has always responded to my questions (via twitter, get satisfaction, email, etc) promptly

<3 breville

awesome. Thank you AmazonV. It’s really good to know.

Yes at first I was extremely worried because I just purchased it in October. But I called the customer service number and had to wait until they were in since I am on the east coast and they are on the west. But as soon as they were in I called and the customer service rep was very helpful. Definitely do not hesitate to get one LiberTEAS you will love it! The sheer thought of it being broken this morning and going without it had me in a tizzy!

I’m not supposed to know, but my husband just ordered one for me tonight. :) I was wondering if anyone happens to know, is there a manufacturer’s warranty on the product? Also, what is the total capacity of the kettle? Thanks!

Kristen said

Yes I think there is a one year warranty. The total capacity for water in the kettle is 1500ml, the total tea capacity is 1200ml. Enjoy it! I love mine!

Thanks, Kristen!
