Not literally today, because I got these just before New Years:

A small packet from Moylor. Sheng bing and Shu bricks.

Two orders from Yunnan Craft.
One with hong cha samples, hei cha and a tong of one of my favorite daily drinker shu tuo.

The other order with 2 cakes, shu and sheng.

And finally a random order from a smaller seller with Da Hong Pao, a bing with pressed TGY and supposedly organic shu.

Today I received the January issue of Global Tea Hut, a special on Tea and food with a Tie Guan Yin as the monthly tea. They also often give some small free gift. Today I got a free gift I would send back to them if postage wasn’t too much, a vegan tea cookie. Problem is there is wheat in this cookie for sure and I am on a gluten free diet. Perhaps the next person I do a swap with will get the cookie.

It was a “what I didn’t get in the mail today” unfortunately: I’d got a missed delivery on the 28th for 2 parcels, one of them being a Crimson Lotus order. We were away until the post office closed for New Year, so I went today… and they couldn’t find either of my parcels so are going to call me after they’ve had another look when it is more quiet. I think the second one ought to be from Awazon (or if it isn’t, it is something I’m not expecting).

Usually when this happens it’s because the delivery has got left in someone’s van or cart and they’re away. Hopefully there will be tea soon!

How many business days did you wait. I think they only hold packages for five days then return them to the sender.

If you purchased Black Gold or Stormbreaker and don’t receive it, I will gladly sell you mine at a steep discount if you have an interest! The cakes are broken down and don’t have the full wrapper though.

It was only two business days (the 29th and 30th). The system agrees they ought to still have them, they just couldn’t find them. This does happen at Christmas, because they have piles of packages and not enough storage space, so things end up all over the place. I’ll go back early tomorrow morning I think and see if someone can have another look if it’s less busy. Ours keeps them for 18 calendar days.

@Shine Magical – I got the sheng and shou sample packs, and extra Nannuo mini mushrooms, so there were samples of Black Gold and Stormbreaker. If I don’t get them I’d be interested, though if you’re in the US shipping US-UK tends to be prohibitively expensive!

Hooray, we’re back! This was what I was trying to post in the interim:

Glorious success! My CL parcel was found – it had been slightly squished and put on a shelf above the normal place, and the second parcel was actually for my OH and should have had a second delivery card, so they hadn’t found it because they were looking for my name.

In addition to that, I got a box today entirely full of Yiwu samples from Yiwu Mountain Tea. (Basics pack, time traveller pack, and a few random).

My last teaware purchase of 2017 arrived today. It’s a kensui, copper Japanese vessel for waste water, purchased from an eBay seller: https://sansyuuan-com.ssl-netowl.jp/ebay2017/e17121708.jpg

An upgrade over the soup bowl I’ve been using as a refuse jar for my tea sessions.

Pretty!

Are you using a tea tray as well or just this? I am wondering about process here.

Thanks. My tea setup changes frequently but I use the waste bowl with a bamboo placemat or a wooden tray without drainage holes.

Thanks, LuckyMe. I am slowly collecting the bits and parts to gong fu things, but for now, I am happy with my Libre mug steeping method. I can be fickle too, so things can change. In the meantime, it’s good to hear how others do things.

I also got three black teas, three tian jian, and a boatload of samples, mostly Autumn 2016 and Spring 2017 sheng.

First order of 2018 arrived today. Winter high mountain sampler from Floating Leaves. Sample packs of Ali Shan, Li Shan, Dayuling, and Shan Lin Xi. I was pleased to see the teas were all vacuum packed as green oolongs tend to go stale quickly. This means I can take my time to savor them without worrying about losing freshness.

They also threw in a free sample of winter competition bao zhong which is perfect because I just ran out.
