Orange County, CA area meetup?
Would like to join but I have business trips for the next two weeks. China and Japan (not tea related). Let me know if you plan on any meetings in May. I live in Irvine but would be willing to drive to LA if that means more people can join. Plan on purchasing a wide variety of premium Mariage Freres Darjeelings in May and should have enough to share.
I will also have some High Mountain Taiwanese Oolongs and if anyone is insterested, some Green unflavored Rooibos too.
Excelsior – I am also in Irvine! :) I love mariage freres and know all the brand you listed in your profile! :)
Excelsior, I think we will definitely need to have another meetup/swap in May — your tea selection sounds awesome :P Taiwanese oolongs are some of my favorites.
I might pick up some specialty teas while in Japan. They always have quite a selection at department stores. Fortnum Mason, Fauchon, Harrod’s. Wedgewood, Brook Bond, TWG, Lupicia, Marine de Bourbon, Mariage Freres, etc.
Just wanted to put a time on the meetup for April – is 2pm on the 28th ok for you AwkwardSoul and ToiToi?
28th 2pm sounds fine to me. :)
excelsior – just for info marina de bourbon changed their name to hanamizuki. I would love to try any of brand you mentioned. For lupicia you can place an order on usa website except for limited edition (gentei) Also I would recommend you to try karel capek or silverpot. They are japanes brand and they have decent tea as well.
Thanks for the info. If I have time to stop by Jiyuugaoka, I’ll try to make it to Lupicia and Karel Capek. As for Hanamizuki, it’s one of my wife’s favorite shops. i received some fine white Chinese tea from a customer and I’ll bring this to the next meeting. Hope all of you have fun on the 28th!
2pm on the 28th works for me! (My husband is coming as he’s my ride, though he’s not into tea)
I need to know by the 25th or 26th what teas I should bring, so I have time to pack them up before the weekend. I can also bring my tin of “to be swapped”, which seems to be mostly Fusion, Della Terra and 52 Teas in it. I’d love to try some unflavored pu’erh and oolongs, though I’m happy to try anything I haven’t had before.
