Teas for the sads

Hey guys,

I’m having a bit of a sad/frustrated/grumpy day. I decided to treat myself to a pot of my precious Pumpkin Chai but what do you brew when you just need to be soothed?

For a “down in the dumps day” my go to tea has always been Celestial Seasons Honey Vanilla Chai, but here lately its been Cafe’ Vanilla from Della Terra teas.
Sorry you’ve had a bad day :( Blessings to you.

Over the last week, my world has been torn apart and flipped upside down with all the renovations happening at my house, so I’ve been going through a cycle of sad/anxious/angry/panicky. The teas I seem to be reaching for are my milk oolong, Glitter and Gold, a homeblend of green rooibos/lavender/chamomile/valerian with a drizzle of maple syrup, ice-brewed (shinobi-cha) Gyokuro, and Lapsang Souchong.

My go-to comfort tea has always been Constant Comment (probably because it was one of the first teas I ever had), but lately I’ve been reaching to other things. Harney and Sons Hot Cinnamon Spice with some cloves thrown in is really comforting to me when I’m down.

Pumpkin Chai or just some plain ol’ peppermint are my go to pick me ups.

I usually go for something chocolate, mint, or chai. Most often minty.

I tend to bust out whatever “fancy” tea I have been hoarding for a rainy day! Today it is organic sparrow tongue oolong from Butiki teas!

Plain peppermint or a decadent black tea like Verdant’s Laoshan Black or Teavivre’s Black Dragon Pearls. Black currant flavoured blacks also tend to give me a happy. :)

I just pick something I know I’ll like rather than tasting something new. Maybe a nice unflavoured black, or something minty.
