Stop me before I buy more tea!

Harney’s has a giant selection of slightly overpriced oolongs. Their fenghuang shuixian is amazing.

That is so me. I was just gonna order one tea from 52Teas. That’s it. Suddenly, I also had an order from Butiki, Davids, AND Red Leaf before the 52Teas one shipped.

Then I ordered more from Butiki as well as from Verdant. Now I’m itching to buy more of the tea that just arrived today from Verdant… cough Besides David’s, I’d never heard of any of the above vendors before Steepster.

Seriously, you guys, what is it about tea that turns us all into raving lunatics? Coffee drinkers don’t get like this! Jeez, I don’t even think drug addicts get like this! I’m just glad I found Steepster this time around, because even though you are all enablers, it makes me feel less “weird”.

I feel exactly the same way. xD So glad to have found Steepster to chatter about tea and not feel like a different species from all the people I know in real life.

Oh, coffee drinkers. My brother brings TWO different methods of brewing coffee when he does cycle touring. When he hikes, he brings a french press. It’s ridiculous. All tea lovers need is a mug! If I’m hiking, i bring stuff that doesn’t oversteep, and I strain with my teeth. :)

I have a fairly sizable gap between my two front teeth (not big enough that I look like I have a tooth missing, but big enough that when I was a kid I used to squirt juice between them at people…) so the image of me attempting to strain with my teeth is pretty funny. xD; I’d definitely get a mouthful, haha.

Your point still stands of course. :) Just my anecdote of the day.

I totally get mouthfuls of tea as well, but i tend to go for things that have big chunks or leaves that don’t usually make it past the spout of the mug, because that’s the stuff that usually doesn’t oversteep. :) I might bring a cloth steeping bag this summer tho. I think the plan is a 7 day hike, plus a couple extra days travel… I’ll need variety!

and you make suntea!

I will definitely be making suntea! Anything to disguise the taste of the water treatments! :)

Hilarious! I just saw this thread as I was going to check out the “Best Dessert Teas” thread to check out more new shops. Since joining steepster less than 3 weeks ago, I’ve ordered tea from:

Butiki
David’s
Verdant
Red Leaf
sTEAp
Culinary Teas
Teajo

And ordered a Gaiwan. Seriously. Someone please stop me.

oops forgot 52 teas. Holy crap. Don’t let my husband see this thread. He already thinks I’m nutso over tea :-)

Shoot! And the Den’s sampler, but that was free so it doesn’t count, right?

Try Della Terra. they have amazing Dessert teas at very good prices..

They are definitely on my list to try but I’m trying to hold strong as I have a swap coming in the next week or so that has a few from them. I do keep checking out their site though. Their sampler packs are pretty cool!

5 0.5 oz for 10 bucks is a great price for samples.

You can also try us out. =) I’m not one to push often, but if you are new and we are new, perfect match made in heaven.
