Steepsterites on Ravelry? (Crochet/Knitters?)

Tonight I know the only reason that I was able to get through 6 rows knitting laceweight silk and stainless steel was because I had drunk a cup of kabusecha right before I started. Let’s hear it for tea-drugging myself into some patience!

Hehehe. Maybe I should try that to actually get the motivation to wind the yarn for the baby sweater I’ve meant to start for a week. My husband is my swift and I am the ball winder and we both hate it so it gets put off. Maybe tea first will help.

It’s worth a shot! What pattern do you plan to use for the sweater? I’m looking at a few for my niece.

My first is due in April and I am using it as a great opportunity to learn new techniques on a small scale. I made a Newborn Vertebra already but am intending to do Assisted Hatching in 6-9 or 9-12 month size. Probably 9-12 as I figure I’m more likely to have a big kid than a little one. My queue is exploding!

There is a Ravelry Steepster group but I left it recently as it was super quiet and I wanted to clear up my boards. There is a lot of tea and knitting crossover though! Also planning Flax, Baby Sophisticate and Gidday Baby in various sizes. I’m big on free patterns, obviously. :)

Yup, I’m on the last chart on a lace weight shawl with each row taking 35 mins (purl side) or 1 hour (knit lace work beading side).

I pretty much have to go for a tea refill after each purl side to get me to do the lace side.

7 rows to go! Arggg, the bindoff is going to take at least 8 hours.

You have my sympathies. I loathe binding off.

You’re on the last chart! That blend of seeing the light at the end of the tunnel and bind-off dread. I’ve never knit with beads. My hat’s off to you.

Uniquity, I was looking hard at newborn vertebra. Wow, that sounds strange. I think it might be the winnner. Congratulations on your baby!
