but i boiled some milk in the electric kettle (…) and then i realized it was dumb and now it is all black on the bottom. im letting it sit in vinegar and hot water, will it be fine after that?

yes, you can also warm vinegar and soda (salt) a little, and your kettle will be as new.
(also works with chalk residu :)

actually just made a cup of tea, it came out perfectly new, used some hot water and lemon also and some scrubbing. glad it turned out fine.
