I welcome your comments. Thanks
I think the cheerful one is really cute. The only thing I find is that that type of glass infuser basket really only works well with larger leafed tea. If you use it with something fine, they tend to get clogged quite easily, and are difficult to clean.
When I first started brewing my teas gonfu style. I used something similar to the first pot. It worked fine and it was nice to watch the teas unfurl and the tea develop. However, I prefer to use a Gaiwan now because you can pour liquid out of it faster and therefore minimize the time the leaf is in contact with the water. I find that this is important with some of my oolongs that have first steeps of 10-15s and that can taste bitter if brewed longer than that. As well, I find that I tend to get more steeps out of the teas I brew in the gaiwan for the above reason.
If you are still in love with that cute Gaiwan from Dragon Teahouse, it looks like they may have the intention of restocking it as they have kept it on their .biz website with the option of adding it to your wish list.
I appreciate your assistance and insights about the glass infuser basket and the importance of speed in the Gongfu process. That’s so helpful, I’m now following you. Thanks!
