Flavoring Marshmallows With Tea

I’m super excited right now and crossing my fingers that this works out! I soaked some Della Terra’s Lime Chiffon in rum for a few days and used it as flavoring while making marshmallows. I poured the marshmallow cream into a pan and it has to set for a few hours before I know if it worked or not. The batter tastes amazing, it’s just not as stiff as other times I have made marshmallows. Instead of putting the bloom in the base, I put the base in the bloom and that may have been a mistake. Either way, I’ll end up with yummy marshmallows or yummy marshmallow cream.

Now I’m trying to brainstorm what other teas would be fantastic as flavored marshmallow!

Maybe a chai of some sort? I could see it making good marshmallows in hot cocoa. XD
What’s your recipe for making marshmallows? I’ve been wanting to make some one of these days, and a tried and true recipe would be wonderful.

They turned out a little more creamy and melt in your mouth more than I prefer, BUT they are freaking delicious! I’m going to make myself sick on sugar gorging myself on them!

Chai is a good idea! I use a recipe out of a book… http://www.amazon.com/Marshmallows-Homemade-Gourmet-Eileen-Talanian/dp/1423602498/ref=sr_1_2?s=books&ie=UTF8&qid=1366607320&sr=1-2&keywords=marshmallows
The ingredients are simple, but the instructions are a bit complex.
