Oh, let me play! TassieTeaGirl buys from Davidstea.com, they will ship to Australia but don’t have a flat fare worked out — you have to email them.

Also a couple of other Australian (Tassie) vendors:

http://www.artoftea.com.au/
0-500g – $7.50
501-3kg – $11.50
Over 3kg – $25

flat rate shipping $10 around Oz

Woo thanks Mem!

I’ve updated the first post but for some reason it is defaulting back to original text even though in the editor your shops are there? Weird. Hopefully it fixes itself soon.

Oh what a pity, I would have taken you up on your free samples offer if I knew that! A lot of vendors won’t post to Australia :( but good to know for the future! And great postage pricing, too.

Guys, good timing! Last night I decided it was time to nurture a blossoming tea obsession and found Steepster, up till midnight trying to learn the difference between green roobois and pineapple oolongs….I had no idea! But it didn’t take me long to figure out that the market was tricky for Aussies. I’d be curious to know if anyone can recommend any of these particularly for having a good range? People seem to talk a lot about getting samples to try, which sounds fun….

Hey Curls! Welcome to the wonderful world of Steepster :D there are only a few of us Aussies on here regularly. If you’re after some samples, the best way is through a swap or checking out websites… or trying out one of the tea subscriptions I’ve mentioned below! I’m currently awaiting my first boxes from both Monstrositea and Mr. Earl, I’ll be sure to post my thoughts on the subscription samples in my tealogs :)
T2 do a lot of samples if you visit in store but I’m trying to steer away from them more lately as they’re now owned by Lipton, the big corporate conglomerate boo. (Still, as a T2 addict, it’s a tough transition for me…)

I really love The Devotea, and they actually offer some Australia-exclusive stuff/seem based in Australia.

Adding to my list! Thanks!

NP! I found out when I mentioned how much I wanted to try Seaside Rendezvous and the owner of The Devotea chimed in explaining how it was for a benefit or some such, and only available on home turf in Australia. If you like strong but well balanced, smooth black breakfast and afternoon tea blends, they’ve got lots of nice ones. I’m partial to Finnbarr’s Revenge and Persian Princess myself, but Lord Petersham is quite popular. I’ve enjoyed their more unusual chais too, like the Breading Pudding one.

Mandala Tea is here for our Aussie friends, too! Just shipped some out that way today. We charge actual shipping, no “handling” charges for all of our international customers. Here is a link to how we do it with our int’l friends: http://shopmandalatea.com/customer-service/#answer1 We’ve got the number one rated tea on Steepster right now and our little company is really excited about that! G’day!
