The Cupboard: How are you using it?

I’m putting everything I’ve got, so I can see it and think “Oh, let’s drink that one up!” :-p

I can’t even figure out how the feature works yet. Too busy drinking tea and reading posts on Steepster when I should be working.

It’s pretty straight forward. When you view a tea and the tasting notes on the right it says “Add to cupboard” and the subtitle is “Own this tea?” If you own this tea (i.e if it’s in your real cupboard at home) click it and it logs that you own it.

AHA! I’m looking for an “Add to cupbard” button. I’ve been so mesmerized by the description and tasting notes of the teas that I forgot to look at what’s directly in front of my face. (Blush).

It’s ok. At first I was so mesmerized I forgot to actually drink tea! lol:)

Instead of puting this in the new features thread, I’m putting it here because it has to do w/ the cupboard. I’d like the ability to add tea books, tea wares, and tea food items to the cupboard. Also the ability to see the items in another person’s cupboard and shopping list. What about keeping an address on file so we can send items to each other either secretly (secret santa!) or revealing our identity.

You can already see items in someone else’s cupboard. Just go to that person’s profile and click the cupboard tab. (The same is true of their shopping list.) I’ve been shamelessly snooping through other people’s cupboards.

DUH! I feel stupid LOL:) Thanks Carolyn.

“I’ve been shamelessly snooping through other people’s cupboards.”

Interesting mental picture there, Carolyn.

I also use it as a log of what’s actually in my cupboard now. I hope to update it as I run out and restock. We’ll see how diligent I am.

Re tea books – quite a few of us are on LibraryThing, often with the same username; you can look at my tea books there – just search for the tag “TEA
:-)

Hiya fellow LTer ! their “Tea!” group is how I found out about Steepster !

My cupboard is what I actually have on hand in my real tea drawer. I love this feature as well as the shopping list, now when I am at World Market shopping for tea, I will be a well informed shopper:)

Everything I have goes into the Cupboard, lest I forget those little odd bags lying around. It would be nice if we could simultaneously remove an item from the Cupboard and place the same tea on the Shopping List.

I LOVE that suggestion!

Well I am using it like a cupboard, if I own it and I drink it, in it goes. That way if you want to come and visit me and you don’t like what I have, you can bring your own. (LOL)

Ha! I like that:)

I’m putting in the teas that I liked enough to want to remember so I can buy them when I run out. I sometimes forget what the exact name of a tea I liked is. I thought using the tea cupboard would be a good way to keep a list of my absolute favorites.

I am a lover of black tea. Earl Grey is my favorite scented tea, but for pure tea flavor, I love Ceylon tea. There are so very many Ceylon teas that I want to use the tea cupboard to help me keep track of what I liked best.

I’m putting anything I have more than 1oz of and leaving it in the cupboard until I log it that way I can remember what I purchased / what I liked / didn’t like. Unfortunately, I finished some of my samplers before I found this site =(

I would love an archive feature, that way I can keep track of the tea I purchased in the past.
