Tea ingredients

Hi! I am new to this site and fairly new to the world of tea. I love my general green teas but really love the fruit concoctions!
Its not too hard to find any general tea where I live but its hard to find quality teas and/or tea ingredients. So, I decided to embark on my own tea adventure!
Anyone here make their own tea mixes? My current favorite is White Blueberry Tea made from white tea and dried blueberries sweetened with german rock sugar syrup. And only because dried blueberries is about all I can find!
I like to stay local and buy local but am finding it hard to find good, cheap dried fruits (especially of the exotic varieties I like) to experiment with. Where do you get your supplies?
I recently found an online site called Nuts.com. Has anyone tried them?

Welcome to the site Empress…fellow newbie here. I too am fond of making my own tea fusions. I use spices like cardamom and cinnamon, herbs such as mint (both dried and fresh), and lately have started adding flowers like dried rose petals and lavender. It’s harder to find food grade dried flowers but I’ve had success on Amazon.

Unfortunately, I haven’t had much luck with dried fruits. A 1-2 minute steep doesn’t seem to be enough to really bring out the flavor. Also, many of the dried fruits I find are treated with things like sulphur dioxide which I’m hesitant to put into my tea. I took a peek at Nuts.com and was happy to see several organic dried fruits without additives. I might just give the sour cherries a try. Even if they don’t work for tea they’ll sure make a tasty snack.

I’ve had great success with dried blueberries, infused in hot water for 20-mins then I infuse the tea. I usually have to rewarm the water but white tea doesn’t need the water to be too hot.
I am trying to make a pineapple black tea for my love and have found that it doesn’t infuse as readily. Even with boiling! So am going to try pureeing the pineapple bits into the hot water.
It’s more work, but for healthier… I don’t mind.
