Breville One-Touch Owners - I am looking for your input!

OK… I’ve pretty much decided that this is the tea maker I shall have… but I do have a question. Have any of you tried brewing rooibos in it? I am wondering how it fairs with the thin rooibos needles?

its not bad for Rooibos…but realize that nothing is perfect. This is as close to it as you get — its gorgeous and it is well made. And I still make most of my tea with teapot …except in the morning when I make an enormous pot of silver needles to last my day

LiberTEAS, I made The Necessiteas Carrot Cake in it tonight. Some of the rooibos escaped, but it wasn’t bad. It was more, but not a lot more, than comes through with the finum filter. I’d say about twice as much.

So far i am 100% of rooibos made in it, some escape – but this was true of my zarafina as well, the secondary filter on the pour spout makes it so that very few of those make it into my cup though

also cheap fanning filled tea will end up with escapees as well (ditto on the same as zarafina)

Now… I’m weighing my options once again… I just found out that if I order online, I may have to wait until July to get my Breville! I don’t know if I am willing to wait that long. Then again… it might be worth the wait for the extra tea that is sent along with… so as I say, I’m weighing my options.

I did find out that the nearest Williams Sonoma location does have these in stock. So do I go with the (semi) instant gratification, and buy now (well, it won’t be right now, because, I will have to wait until the end of the month either way), or do I wait to get it online with the Dammann Freres tea?

Decisions… decisions! I’m terrible with making decisions.

Get it w/ the tea. It’s my own personal philosophy that it’s a waste of money to get something other than what you really want just because of factors like time and price. That’s why I’m waiting to see of those time and temp changes are made before I get mine… cuz I know if I get it now I’ll be thinking “I wish…” from minute one. Let us know what you decide:)

Unless it really makes a significant price difference, I vote for asap. I am totally loving mine and almost can’t imagine what I did without it!

I think the tea is worth ~$32. And free tea (especially that is kinda hard to find in the US) is REALLY awesome. If those changes I’d like were made, that’d totally help rationalize the cost for me- I’m very good at rationalizing things hehe;)

the price is the same whether I buy it now at Williams Sonoma, or buy it online at Sur La Table. The biggest debate is – is it worth waiting about a month for the machine to get two tins of tea for free?

Not that I need tea, I have plenty. But, more tea… is well…. more. :)

Yes, because that’s $32 or whatever that you’ll SAVE by not having to buy said tea later:)
