I opened Day 2 and I was really impressed y the thoughtful note describing the tea and why you selected it. I fear that my day won’t measure up in terms of the thoughtful personal touches, but I love seeing the variations people put on their day.

Mine either. D: And I’m tomorrow after all these really classy ones.

I had to leave for work stupidly early this morning (before mail had arrived), so I’m crossing my fingers that when I get home late tonight Day 2 (and maybe 3, 4, and 5) will have arrived!

Katiek said

I hope so too, but in the worst case, you’ll get to celebrate Christmas though out much of January!

My fingers are crossed for you too, because I’m one you haven’t received yet D:

you get mail on boxing day? I know for sure in Alberta/Ontario boxing day = mail holiday..along with the banks :)

I can’t remember for sure. I think I remember getting it last year, because all our Christmas cards from family came late for Christmas but just in time to spend the money for Boxing Day shopping…

CelebriTEA what an awesome package! I have tried both teas already this morning and they are so lovely. Thank-you!

I agree. Today is my first day back to work after the holiday, and what a nice start to the day. Everything she put in was so thoughtful and nice. Thank you very much!

Also agree. Fun surprises. Tea looks interesting. Can’t wait to try it!

Well, Day #2 showed up this morning so I’ll be enjoying that tonight after work! Still waiting on Day #3…

Yay! I am so sorry it made it a day late, but I am glad it made it.

It’s not like it’s your fault! More than anything else, it’s my location. Also, there was a news story yesterday that Canada Post apparently screwed something up and thousands of things that had reached their final cities never got delivered. I don’t know – my roommate was the one watching and I wasn’t really paying attention.

moraiwe said

Gah! That’s a bummer. Knowing that makes me want to resend out things, just to be certain you guys at least get something.

Yep, the folks at various stores told me about this about a week ago. Three trucks were lost somewhere in Alberta, each carrying thousands of parcels. Things are showing up now though, as I received Days 5 and 11 just now!

No day three; but enjoying the teas from day #2 right now! Fingers crossed that days 3 and 4 come tomorrow, so I can do both…

Roswell…did you EVER get day 3?
I do hope !!!

Tomorrow I’ll post my reasons for the tea I picked, as well as the ingredients list (because I didn’t include either in the envelope. Oops.)

:D

It’s all good. And, awesome!

I’m thinking of taking pics of each day, and posting them here – but don’t want to ruin the surprise for anyone, either. Suggestions?

TeaLady441 said

I’d love to see them, but not sure what to do about spoilers. Maybe post it after the days are all up?

Katiek said

You could put them in a separate thread labelled SPOILERS so that anyone whose packages were delayed can just avoid the thread if they want.

Seeing as everyone else has explained why they chose the tea they did for their day. I figured I would offer mine (though now I wish I had included it as a note with the tea).

The Fourth Day of Christmas coincides with the Orthodox event of Feast of the Holy Innocents. In this they remember the infants that were killed by Herod (The Coventry Carol actually describes this event. Hayley Westenra has a beautiful and poignant cover of it, for those interested). I picked Blu Blanc to tie together the color blue, which frequently symbolizes sadness (the event), and white which frequently symbolizes purity (the children).

And on a less serious (and depressing) note, the company name (Blackbird Tea Co.) fit perfectly, too.

Ingredients:

Organic White Tea, Organic Blueberries, Organic Cornflowers, Organic Licorice Root and natural flavors.

Thanks for the information. All very interesting. I can tell I’m going to enjoy the tea.

Katiek said

Interesting. I didn’t include a note about why I picked the tea either, so I’ll post when it’s the right day too. Very interesting background, Moraiwe. I was wondering how people would come up with things for certain days, since some are not so obvious.

That’s soo great! Coventry carol is my favorite carol :)

the Blu Blanc tea has been one of my favorites thus far, but I confess to liking them all…each an every one :~}

Another fun day for the 12 days of tea. I don’t want to post a spoiler in case some people didn’t get their package yet, but I’m loving all the variety and interesting choices.

I’m really behind :( Still missing packages for days 3, 4, 5, and 11. At least I have tomorrow’s! And, I’m hoping I’ll get some of the others since it’s Monday and post will be getting delivered again.

These packages are so much more fun than my store bought advent calendar! Today’s package was the highlight of my morning. So many creative and beautiful ideas reflected in each package.

Mine for this year may be a bit of a letdown, but I’m definitely getting great ideas if we do this again next year!
