Capital Tea's Teapot Quality and Teapot advise?!

Hello, Very new so forgive me and sorry for the wall of text, very new at this >.<

So back in October, me and my husband were on our honeymoon and we stumbled into a Tea Shop Called Teavana. I had been sick the first portion of the trip and fell in love with herbal teas due to my sore throat. Well I went wacko when I was in there and bought their Fuku Teapot which was $149.99, after using it for about two months now I’m disappointed because the Paint(?) on the outside is chipping off and possibly the enamel on the inside since at the top of it I see blue spots. I will admit I wasn’t fully versed on teapot care so while I washed it with only warm water I did not always wipe it dry and thanks to my husband there were nights when he left it sitting in the man cave, uncleaned.

Well I want a bigger Teapot, 24-32oz since he’s found he likes it too! I like Cast iron but I’m unsure if I’m well handled for it, we found one we both like but I’m worried that even with proper care it might chip its paint on the outside or enamel on the inside like my fuku has in two months. So I’m curious on the Quality of the teapots from Capital Tea’s because that the cast iron teapot we were looking at …

I’m not even sure Cast iron is the right tea pot for me or not but I do like them a lot and I even love my fuku still. Yixing will be a future possablity but thats once I found my dream tea…Which I ordered samples of adagio since teavana is really expensive and I read on here good comments about them.

Thank you for your time .

I have never had or used a cast iron pot but have been happy for years with my porcelain teapots. My favourite is the Bubble teapot from Davids Tea. They are fairly inexpensive and the infuser is really good. The spout pours cleanly and it keeps the tea nicely. Plus, they’re pretty! I know this isn’t really what you were looking at but it’s a good option if you’re looking to save. :)

Thank you their very nice looking I’ll keep them in mind ,
How well are they with staying warm if you put them on a warmer?

Ahh, we are different sorts of tea drinkers. I steep in the pot and pour into the mugs from there, so my tea doesn’t spend time keeping warm in the pot. I would imagine they’re not as good for that as cast iron unfortunately. You would also want to remove the infuser so it doesn’t keep steeping and then you’d need another bowl to put that in or something.

I have seen people on here recommend cast iron pots from World Market, whatever that is. I assume an american store? I think that is what it was called. Good luck finding something that works for you!

They’re about $20 apiece, so really not a big investment. I don’t know how their shipping is, because I always go to the one near my house instead of ordering online. I also don’t know about the quality of the teapot, as I’ve never gotten one. Mostly I buy food, drinks, and ceramic mugs there, and those have never disappointed.

When they sell a teapot called Fuku I think it says it all what they think of their customers
