I got mainly teaware, an additional timolino (both large and small) and some mint julep tea.

I got the glass Swedish tea pot! I’ve been eyeing it for awhile, and now I don’t feel guilty. I also purchased pistachio cream, cookie dough, and moms apple pie. I’m also excited that the timolinos went on sale. :)

AHH! Do you think the pistachio cream is similar to the mulberry magic? I really wanted to get the cookie dough, pistachio cream and checkmate but I can’t imagine what I’d do with 250 g of each! Congrats on your great deals.

Hey Stephica, hmm I haven’t had mulberry magic before so I don’t know…thought I know at first I didn’t like Pistachio Cream, and my second time I made with a lower temperature and it was delicious! (I still need to do a log) I felt the same..I never tried cookie dough or checkmate. But both reviews were decent and honestly if i didn’t like it I would know someone to hand it off too, lol.

I have both Pistachio Cream and Mulberry Magic and they are similar in the sense that they both have the mulberry leaves for their base. However, the macadamia nuts in Mulberry Magic are mild, leaving the tea with a much more vegetal flavour while the pistachioes give Pistachio Cream a distinct, strong Pistachio flavour that overshadows the mulberry base. I like both teas quite a bit though!

I got a 16oz timolino, 250g of Checkmate, and a thermometer as I think mine isn’t working properly.
I’m actually kind of wishing I had got a bit more tea, but realistically I don’t need anymore. I should really take another pic of my collection to just show how unrealistic it really is! haha

I’ve heard great things about the Checkmate but wasn’t willing to get 250 g of it, hehe. Looks like you did well!

I purchased the Scandinavian ceramic teapot and cup set. I really wanted the compass pot but my store didn’t have it in stock and I was debating between the two anyway. :)

I got glass gongfu pot( I have a few, never enough), Timolino, 2 canteens

How do you like their glass gong fu? I was looking at that but I wasn’t sure if it was sturdy enough.

I got this as well and boy has it ever gotten a workout ever since! It’s the perfect size for me and the “filter” at the end of the spout does a not bad job of holding back the tea leaves (small stuff still sneaks through on occasion but not overly much I’ve found.)

As for sturdiness… I accidentally dropped the lid at one point when I was un-boxing it. It only fell about a foot, maybe foot and a half to the counter but didn’t crack, chip or break.

It’s excellent. I use it for oolongs, puerh or blacks which require short steeps like 15-30 sec
I’m not just ready for yixing pot;) and those glass pots are inexpensive alternative . I find them more convinient than gaiwan( I have those too). I’m tea ware junkie

Exactly how I feel! I suppose I should purchase a pair especially at that price. Lol

Yes you should. They are beautiful and functional and cheap

You know… I was eyeing the glass gong fu teapot for a while… I tried to convince myself that I didn’t need another teapot, but upon reading your enthusiasm for it, I went out and bought one!

What are we here for;). I used to buy them from ebay about $12-15 a piece. And I like to brew some pu or black side by side to compare

I caved and bought a timolino. Both of my current travel tea mugs are plastic, so stainless will be nice.

I managed to grab the second to last gong fu teapot in Manhattan and also one of their white canvas bins for smaller sized tea packs.
I tried so hard not to give in…. I really did… :(

I got:
3 for $30 tins (Birthday Cake, Strawberry Rhubarb Parfait, Chocolate Rocket)
250g Yellow Dragon
250g Earl of Lemon
250g Pink Passionfruit
250g Sugar and Spice

Aaaand now my bank account says “WTF IS WRONG WITH YOU, FOO! YOU HAVE TO PAY TUITION IN A WEEK!!! STOP BUYING TEA!”

That’s a lot of tea! Enjoy! ;-) Earl of Lemon sounds intriguing…

I placed an order during the sale, too, but only for the sample sets, as I had never tried David’s Tea before. If the bulk sale had been of smaller weights, I might have taken the plunge, but I did not want to gamble on unknown entities…

I tried Earl of Lemon a few weeks ago for the first time and really liked it. It’s like a creamy, lemony Earl Grey but without the astringency.

I took a chance with Yellow Dragon and Sugar and Spice based on reviews on Steepster. Heh. I looked at the ingredients and figured they were all things I liked, and the reviews for both were quite good. So…if I don’t like them, I might have to find a friend who does :)

I find Sugar and Spice needs a bit of sweetener, but after that it is really good (it tastes like fall and Thanksgiving to me). Yellow Dragon is really interesting. My bf ordered it because he was curious and it is a really strong and unique taste, but we really liked it as well. That order looks like it will be tons of fun!

I don’t usually drink tea with sweetener (read: ever.), but I’ve been finding lately that a bit of agave makes some teas better. Tastes maturing or just my sweet tooth coming out at Christmas? Who knows. But I got some Maple agave free from DT with purchase a while ago, so that might be good with Sugar and Spice. I’ll give it a try, anyway. When I want Mom’s Apple Pie to taste more like dessert and less like breakfast, I add Maple agave :)

When I saw Yellow Dragon I thought it was my three favourite things rolled into one. I’m really liking oolong teas lately, I really like lemongrass, and OMG I LOVE MINT. All three in one tea? I’m game.

Jen, what do you think of the maple agave? I have it but I feel like I don’t have teas to go with flavor. I use rock sugar before agave I feel like agave adds a aftertaste

Abbey – try it with a smokey tea!

Cavocorax, Thanks! :)

Abby, I also had the same problem when I first got it; I felt I had nothing to go with it, confounded with the fact that I have never in my life sweetened tea. Ever. So to get it free, I figured…at least I’m not WASTING money. And I was going to get the stuff I got to get it free for my friend for her birthday, anyway.

It goes really well with Mom’s Apple Pie. Turns it from a breakfast tea to a dessert tea. I like it a lot. I also add it to my gunpowder green tea (which I get from a swanky store here called Loblaws…you might try your local grocery store for a little green box of loose leaf gunpowder green tea. lol) which takes the edge off on mornings where I want to drink it, but I don’t really want the “WHA-POW!” that goes with it. I also add it to plain old English Breakfast tea bags I have…takes it from a boring yucky tea to a yummy tea. Heh.

I still don’t know if I would buy it when my squeeze-bottle of it is gone. But for free? I’m enjoying it.
