Taking a leap

So, i have a bit of a conundrum. I know I like my Earl Grey. I guess that would lead me to my next question. Having my favorite kind, where do I go from here? I like English breakfast, and if I’m in the mood even Irish breakfast. So I guess I’m a fan of the black teas. The greens are good, but seem to need their time and place usually after dinner or after the gym. I really have no experience with whites or roobios. I’m not really into fruity flavors but… I’m just not sure where to go next, I don’t want to just stick with the EG variety. Any help is appreicated. Thanks

You might be interested in starting to explore the component teas of the blends you enjoy. Ie keemum, Assam and Ceylon. A number of Fujian blacks can have bright fruit notes that you might appreciate if you like the bergamot in Earl grey, look for longan in the description. You may also want to try some darjeeling for their bright notes. If you like chocolate notes you might want to explore Chinese blacks.

As for flavoured teas there are many blends that take earl grey as their starting point. You might want to think about what flavours you do appreciate even in other foods or desserts, such as spicy, creamy, chocolaty, nutty etc.

Not really specific recommendations, but some food for thought.

Definitely some great ideas to start from, I think I may be able to run with this a bit. I’ll make sure to keep updating as I find more, thanks for the help.

Try a black tea sampler – maybe the intro to fine tea or British blend set from Upton Tea. Or the Raja sampler from Adagio. If you want to try the adagio one, shoot me a pm and I can send you coupon. Another advantage to adagio is that they offer you a free sample at check out in exchange for a facebook share, which would let you sample something really out of your comfort zone for free.

I’ve heard quite a bit about the adagio company, I may need to really look into that, as well as the sample at check out. Both great stepping stones, thanks for the help. Also, I will pm you later, the coupon code would be very helpful as well!
