Today (Feb 6th) is Matcha Day?

Apparently Nishio Tea Trade Association has named Feb 6th as “Matcha Day” in part because of a Japanese pun: the numbers 2/6 can be read “fu-ro”, which can refer to the stove used for the traditional tea ceremony.

I read about it here: https://yunomi.us/18245/sayamas-snow-covered-tea-fields/

Some sites in Japanese also mention it: http://translate.google.com/translate?hl=en&sl=ja&tl=en&u=http%3A%2F%2Fgurutabi-news.gnavi.co.jp%2Fcat9578829%2F%3Fp%3D3&sandbox=1

After reading I was inspired to make myself a cup of matcha. Yum. Is anyone else celebrating “Matcha Day” today?

Ha, no, but thank you for justifying my first dive in by ordering an O-Cha matcha kit yesterday. Feeling better already. :)

If you are following a healthy diet and are generally healthy and energetic, once a day should be enough from a health maintenance perspective. If you are using matcha for energy boosting or craving-killing, twice a day may be beneficial in certain cases, though you will need to judge your body’s own reaction. Some of our customers report a full day’s effects from one cup in the morning. If you wish to go on a detox, weight loss regime, or are lacking in energy twice a day is recommended.
