Tea Swap: BEGINNER

Hello everyone,

I am fairly new to steepster but not the world of teas. I keep reading comments where people discuss tea swapping and thought that was pretty neat. I would like to get involved but I am not sure how to begin, so I’ll just start by listing the tea I have available to swap and see if anyone is interested.

Upton Tea Introduction to Fine Tea Sampler which came with 4 teas
1) East Frisian BOP (Assam) (1oz)
2) China Keemun (0.8oz)
3) Tippy Orthodox GFOP Darjeeling #1 (0.7oz)
4) China Yunnan (8oz)

Hi, I’m pretty new to steepster myself, but I would be up for a swap. I am interested in number 9,10, and possibly number 14.
I will follow you and once you follow me, can you message me with what you might like to try? I have tons of tea in my cupboard, take a look and let me know.

Yay excellent! I will start following you and take a look through your cupboard! If you are interested I just found a pretty neat thread where MissB is selling tea packs for $15. She has an ENORMOUS cupboard so there is tone to choose from. I though it was pretty neat.

I ordered from Miss B and received an awesome package of tea. She is doing mystery packs. It was lots of fun waiting to see what would be in my pack. She does ask your likes and dislikes, so I didn’t get anything that I wouldn’t drink. It was a great way to get more tea. I actually ordered the medium pack for $25 and it came really fast. I’ll PM you about our swap.

Hey!

There is actually a discussion category specifically for swapping. There are a few different discussions depending on which geographical area you’d like to swap in. :)

Hello Courtney. Thank you for the info. I thought I had posted under the tea swap forum. Do you mean that I should have posted this under an already established thread instead of starting my own? I’m still learning my way around here, any tips are much appreciated :)

^Yup. There are several threads already started (US to US, US to Canada, Euro ect) that you can post what you have to swap. It makes the forum a little more streamline and less cluttered with multiple posts of trades, but it isn’t the worst thing in the world to occasionally start your own thread too. There is also a thread that is always in the top few posts on the forum titled “I would vouch for…” or something along those lines. Once you have traded successfully with someone, you can add them to your list as a way of vouching for their credibility so others feel better about trading with them. Welcome to Steepster!

Thank you Courtney and Dustin for the great info. I will definitely check out the forums and be more cautious starting a new thread in the future.
