Best Tea Clubs!

State any tea clubs you have joined and then tell us about your experience!

You have no tea ratings, nothing on your cupboard, wishlist or profile and you or “us” want to know about users tea club experiences? Something smells a little fishy here… like an undercover tea company doing not so sly market research. Am I right?

Just cause i joined like 8 days ago doesn’t mean im a tea company, i was looking at teance (i really like the connoisseur pack if u have heard of it, i would love to hear what u have), verdantt and steepster clubs and wanted to see if there were others people who had good reviews about them cause i cant find any others online

I have to say that I thought the same thing as Dustin! We’ve had a lot of under-handed posts so it’s not an unreasonable assumption, sadly.

If you search the forums you should find lots of information about the different tea clubs and what people think of them.

Just cause you joined 8 days ago doesn’t mean you are not a company either. Your wording didn’t sound like you were talking as an individual, but more on behalf of a larger group.

I wouldn’t join a tea club. In theory I really like the idea of teas showing up magically at my door, but reality is a bit different. Buying teas online without ever having even smelled them feels like a bit of a risk and buying teas who’s descriptions may not even be to my taste AND having to sign up for months of that sounds like an even bigger risk. I also like trying tea from different companies and most clubs are from a single company. I’d rather choose which teas I spend my money on and have the likelihood that I will like them be larger.

I was hoping people would have info on the 3 i listed, im having trouble finding more info and reviews. especially on the teance connoisseur pack.

I’ve never heard of the teance pack. I know the Verdant club is pretty popular for high end tea. I’m currently subscribing to the Amoda box, which is much cheaper, and with much smaller samples, but it has allowed me to discover a few companies that way.

And anyone who has an orange Select tag next to their name is a current subscriber of the box – maybe someone there can help you out. From what I can gather it’s also a high-end box of straight teas.

does the amoda box have good teas even though it is cheaper?

I’ve only had it for three months and so far have really enjoyed it. I do know that there were some repeats in the January box from last year, which led some people to unsubscribe. The December box was all custom blends from Butiki and the February box was semi-custom blends from Verdant.

Also I’m pretty sure you can unsubscribe whenever you want (i.e. there’s no set subscription length).

I have been enjoying select the last couple of months and think it is a great idea. $25 a month is pretty steep (no pun intended) for 10 cups worth of tea but I understand they aren’t a very large business and such. I got my first month for $15 during a promotion and think that is a much more appropriate price. The bag it comes with is pretty neat but maybe if they sent that with the first one and then every 6 months or so it could help cut cost. The packaging and everything is very nice.so far all of the teas have been very good.

for 25 dollars do you think its worth it?

It’s really hard to say. I mean for $25 you could get 2-3 different types of organic tea from certain websites that would last you a whole month. With this you get max ten days worth. In the new months they did include how many resteeps each tea should be good for on the packaging. Its nice to try different teas that you wouldn’t buy otherwise and they are all usually top notch. I think it just comes down to your financial position. If you’re tight on money and love tea everyday I wouldn’t join but if you have some wiggle room financially I think it’s worth a try. You can cancel whenever you want.

I love the idea, but can’t see myself ever actually buying a subscription to a tea site. Least not for myself. When it comes to teas that I can’t sniff before buying, I prefer samples.
