Philadelphia Coffee & Tea Festival - make a weekend of it?

Made it to the festival today. There’s several tea vendors I’ve never heard of before, and everyone is super friendly. I also met Charles and Erik of A&D Damn Fine Tea (had to buy the Oktoberfest Blend!).

Wish I’d known you were there. We could have connected and sipped together. I had a great time tasting and chatting with the vendors, many of whom I’d never heard of. I’ll post the list of what I bought. And you’re right, everyone so friendly and eager to talk tea. Fun time.

Yeah, I didn’t think about seeing if other Steepsters were there until I was already home. I’m glad you had a good time! Did you attend any of the seminars? I wanted to go to the tea and chocolate seminar, but I had a birthday party to attend, so I couldn’t stay that late.

The only session I went to was Kevin Gascoyne’s “India: black tea, the drink that conquered the world.” It was a general discussion of where tea comes from and how Indian production developed over time, along with general tidbits about the world of tea and various makers. It’s remarkable how much information that man has at his fingertips. I wish I’d had my copy of his book with me so he could sign it.
